Nick Cetrone

Hey, I'm Nick Cetrone. Born December 26th 1983. I grew up watching my father Ed Cetrone, an accomplished Piano/Keyboard player, and his friends play and involve me into the music community. My best friends to date are my dads friends/band-mates children. The Roths, the Coyles, great friends of mine that grew up in the same environment. Gigging fathers and a mission to jam that hard!
I wasn't directly pushed into playing any instruments, there was always a house full of pianos seeing that my dad was a player and a tech. By age 12 i was accustomed to cable wrapping, learning about all the musical instruments, their strange parts, and listening to many different genres of music. blues, jazz and swing was ever present, metal had found me in 90', and rap was coming into play. But, i had yet really familiarized myself with a musical instrument. Untill fate gave me a little nudge.
In the summer of 96' my dads drummer became hard to get a hold of. even his girlfriend couldn't reach him. So, she called my dad and said "come get ****'s drums or im putting them on the curb". After picking up this lovely Ludwig drum set and Epiphone acoustic i was immediately engulfed with to will to play. I set up the drums (somehow) in my dads rehearsal room and started trying to figure it all out. I put on my favorite CDs and tried to play along them, but had way better luck with the FM radio ;)
As the years went on I found myself jamming with my dad and his friends at the summer parties which were a large collection of the blues, rock, swing community. As well as my friends that seemed to get the bug as well. I found more instruments and opportunities to play and i took them. On to bass, guitar and piano. On to paying gigs, metal bands, recording and touring.
Currently im Playing in a band called Dimaura. Im using Pearl drums, Tama, Gretch, and Mapex snares, Sabian/Zildjian cymbles, and Bouncing in between Vater & Vic Firth sticks......and saving my milk money for a sonar kit...maybe.
