Eat, sleep, work, blog, make music.
I'm Jason @ Po' Safe Beats, sometimes known as Jaymoney of the Rhyme Commission. My musical adventure began in 1996 when I was transplanted from Lawton Oklahoma to Greenville Illinois. Attending school in Illinois I ran into a number of musical folks, I recorded (engineered) countless albums [works by Mark Lockett, Michael Saul, the Red Hot Valentines, For All The Drifters, Genuine Chili, the LP Outsiders, Salas, Drench, Tanjent, Mass Marvel, and others], I toured with bands [Much Faith, Stereo Deluxx], and I discovered dj-ing, beatmaking, and the MPC along the way. In 1999, after teaming up with Fletch (then known as the King's EmCee, aka KEC Dogg) for a few tracks, we formed a group called Mergence with a couple cats by the name of J Roach (now J Dot) and Dalexand. We recorded an unreleased album and did a couple performances around campus. Mergence died when Dalexand dropped out of school and took off for Canada. Both Roach and KEC began work on solo albums. We were still a crew, still collaborated with each other, and ended up forming a new "group" called the Allynse. KEC became Fletch and Roach became Dot. The Allynse recorded an album, called The Mixtape with a number of guest spots [G Child, Po, Clutch, Diavlo, and some others]. Fletch relocated from Illinois to St. Louis, and the Rhyme Commission was born. That was Fletch and me. We recorded an album, Cerebral Poetry, and released it a couple years later. We did countless shows [the Pageant, Hi Pointe, Just Bill's, Blueberry Hill, etc], and recorded countless songs. Fletch has since recorded two other albums, and after a long hiatus, we've began work on a new Rhyme Commission record. This being said, this page is dedicated to my music: past, present, and future. I'm always open to collaborating on any level, so if you hear anything, let me know... and check out the blog @ posafebeats.blogspot.com
