christophe Bras drums,Gilles RENNE and Philippe SELLAM have created together many projects in France and in other countries. They have so far released seven albums in their name.
Today their newest quartet “NO SPIRITâ€, which is composed by the best Parisian stage musicians, is mixing the jazz with groove by using soft harmonies and melodies supported by intoxicated sounds of organ which allows every member of the group to be inspired in their crazy improvisationsThe band plays only originals, their incisive and tonic compositions are heading directly to the target, without any other forms of process, without any state of spirit. “No spirit†at all!
----------------------------------------------Gilles RENNE et Philippe SELLAM ont réalisé ensemble de nombreux projets musicaux en France et à l’étranger,Aujourd’hui, leur nouveau quartet « NO SPIRIT », composé des meilleurs musiciens de la scène parisienne, procède de ce désir de quadriller l’univers d’un jazz prenant appui sur des « grooves » actuels où les canevas harmoniques souples, soutenus par les sonorités enivrantes de l’orgue permettent aux improvisateurs toutes les audaces.
Essentiellement fait de compositions originales, le répertoire du groupe se veut tonique et incisif pour aller droit au but, sans autres formes de procès, sans aucun état d’âme.
