About Me

Official Cliff Davis MySpace Page.

Over a period of 35 years I have played with many bands, the biggest success was with "Blackrose". Many years ago I also played in a band called "Sgt. pepper". A Beatles cover band that was great fun to play in.

Blackrose had an album out called "Heaven Scent", we had a contract with an American distribution company, with distribution deals in American and the far East. Blackrose supported many bands including; Big Country, Leo Sayer, UK Subs, 999, The Damned, and The Stranglers, during their 8 years together. They also played many festivals; the biggest had a 50,000 Watt PA…With 18,000Watts of fold back !

Sounds Like: Personally, I think I sound like everyone I have ever listened to all rolled into one.
Scally’s Western-Super-mare - Gig review "Okay I’ll admit it I was expecting a Thin Lizzy coves band tonight, and boy was I wrong. Black Rose are instead a horrendously talented four piece from Cornwall with a nifty line in original hard rock music. Making a nice change, they sensibly split their set into one half originals, and the other of mostly covers." Alan Hollaway (Hard Roxx magazine)
CD review – "Black Rose were signed because of their originality. Powerful lyrics, and excellent musicianship and high standard of recording which places them on a level with some of the top artists albums in the world." Christian Murison (Cornish Guardian)
Gig review - I am not going to bother to review any more covers because the band should be judged on their excellent original material. If I saw this band at the Gods I would be begging for their CD. Hard rock labels take note - Black Rose will impress you. Alan Hollaway (Hard Roxx Magazine)
