In 1967 Marion Abramson Senior High School opened its doors for the first time. The marching band helped fill the school with pride and spirit every year when entertaining the crowds at football games, Parades and other events the band was invited to. But the story of one of New Orleans finest high school marching bands has not been able to continue. The doors of M. Abramson S.H.S. has not reopened yet since it has closed because of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. This year would have made 40 years. that why the age on the page say 40, because I set the birthday as 1967. To the band students that was attending at that time and the alumni of the school, the band will forever stayed in our hearts. We all hope and pray that the doors of Abramson S.H.S. will reopen and the Marching Commodores will once again shine in the spot light as one of New Orleans Greatest high school maching band. Until then let us enjoy and share the memories we have of being in the band. Welcome to ABE marching band page on my space. A place for all the Alumni Band Members and fellow band heads. I took on the project of starting up this page because i was looking at all the other high schools bands in New Orleans with their page, and i could not believe that ABE band was the only high school band that i could not find. i had to bring the Mighty Commodores in to the national spot light. Plus all the alumni band members needed way to keep in touch with each other. It don't matter what year you marched in the band all alumni are welcome. I am asking anyone and everyone that may have videos of ABE band to please contact me so we all can enjoy the memories together. i want to put videos of the band on the page.
