We’ve started with the band in 2002. Marc and Erwin where friends and just started making music (Marc drums, Erwin guitar) Marc knew a guy who had played bas-guitar in several bands and who wasn’t playing in a band at that time. And so Maik joined them and he asked an other guitar player Frank who originally came from the same village as Maik but now he lives in Amsterdam. At first we've played with the four of us. And we had very soon several gigs in the surroundings. But our motto was and still is “don’t act big we’re just playing to have fun”After 1.5 years we recorded our first demo. Not long after that we could play in a lot bigger aria and even played with Peter Pan Speedrock. And we decided to start with merchandise on a small base. Half a year later was a sad period in our band existence. Erwin quit, and our practise room closed (studio hans v dijk) We didn’t practice and played much for 10 months. After that period of time we decided to play on with the 3 of us. And STAMPPOT was re-BORN. We turned over our old songs. And started writing new songs. And we played in the new studio from Hans v. Dijk.After a short period of time we started playing on several gigs and festivals! After a year we recorded our live cd “bléf stampen” at the bar de Zwaan in Heeswijk-Dinther. We lounged our first website (scary......not) www.stamppot.com but it was a bit of disaster a lot of trouble with the provider (who not) so we started a new one www.stamppotpunkrock.nl .On this moment we are hope to fix our last live recording.There are several people who asks us why your playing in Dutch we believe in the Dutch language only our cover songs (just 2) are in English. We strongly believe that you even in the Dutch language can play real punk/ punkrock music. The only problem may be the humour in the lyric’s. But don’t be nervous to ask us the translations.
