That would take a while. Not that there is so much to say, just that I'm really not used to talking about myself. Getting to know me is the best way to learn about me.
I live in a very scenic part of NW Washington. The north Puget sound is about a 20 to 40 minute drive, (depending on road construction & traffic), from where I live. The Sound is beautiful but, it is not the ocean. I live in Washington, but my heart is on the Oregon coast. The above was written when I first started developing my profile. After receiving several sincere sounding, and obviously "fishing", "Friend" requests, and requests for my email address, I decided it would be a good idea to elaborate on some of this.
If you look at my profile, you will see that I checked the "here for friends" box. That is what I came here for. Friends. NOT a, "Soul mate", Not the love of my life. I am a bachelor. I enjoy being a bachelor. I don't see anything abnormal about being a bachelor. When I get a message from some pretty young thing, asking for my email so we can talk, get to know each other, and, "SEE WHERE IT LEADS"... I wonder, did that person even look at my profile? Or, even my PICTURE, for crying out loud! I can tell that some of them at least got as far as noticing that, I am of the Christian faith. The opening sentence of the message sounds like it was borrowed from the salutation of one of the Biblical Apostles. People don't walk around in the real world talking like that. If I run into someone who does, they tend to make me nervous. This is the 21st century. Unless you are in a Shakespeare play, speaking in King James, is looked on as rather odd. So, why would you write a message like that? After the King James opening, they usually get down seeing where "this will lead".The following is in all caps for emphasis, not because I am "shouting": THIS IS MYSPACE. NOT MEET-A-MATE, OR ANY OF THE OTHER ONLINE DATING SERVICES. IF I WANTED TO, "MEET-A-MATE", I WOULD SUBSCRIBE TO ONE OF THESE SERVICES. I HAVE NOT DONE THAT. DOES THAT TELL YOU ANYTHING??I do look at the profiles of the people making friend requests. I really don't want to mis-categorize people. I only have three categories: 1)Friends 2) People whose sole stated purpose for sending me a message is, they are looking for, "Mr. Right", their "soul mate", or, the "love of their life". 3) Porn Spammers.
The first category is what I am here for. Friends, musicians I had heretofore never heard of but, who make wonderful music. People who have the same interests as mine. People who have interesting different interests. People who have interests that I had never even thought about. Welcome!
The second category: I wish you well in your search for the perfect mate. You will most likely be frustrated if you settle here. I will probably ignore your message. I wish MySpace had a button for "politely decline", but my options are, "accept", "ignore", "reject" and, "report as spam".The third category: If, when I go to your page, and the headline is, "My pictures are too naughty for MySpace",it is the Spam button. Once again, you didn't look at my profile.I normally would have put this in my Blog. But, I wanted to make sure it was easily accessible. I'll find out over the next few weeks.
