About Me
Glen Preece was born and raised in the small, Appalachian town of Warfield, KY. It was when he discovered his older brother's KISS albums at age 3 that he realized his purpose in life - music. As he grew, so did his love of music. Glen was particularly interested in bands/artist who, like KISS, were more original and dynamic than the bluegrass and country artists who were so popular in his KY hometown. Albums such as Meat Loaf's "Bat Out of Hell", Prince's "Purple Rain", Duran Duran's "Seven and the Ragged Tiger" and Culture Club's "Colour By Numbers" (not to mention every KISS album) were some major influences which sculpted Glen's musical diversity throughout his pre-teen years.Glen began singing at around age 3. By age 12, he had taught himself to play guitar, piano and drums. He learned to read music when he joined the 6th grade band playing trumpet. At age 15, he joined his first band, Fantasia with 3 other musicians ranging in age from 25-30. Before disbanding in Glen’s junior year of high school, Fantasia had independently released several albums and had become quite well known around eastern KY. During his senior year of high school, Glen released his first solo album on which he wrote every song and played every instrument (guitar, bass, keys, drums). And, after high school, Glen headed to Boston, MA to attend the world-renowned Berklee College of Music. Here, he fine-tuned every aspect of his musical skills: everything from theory to songwriting to performance and recording.Today, Glen holds a bachelor’s degree in music production and engineering from Berklee College of Music. He currently lives in Los Angeles, CA where he has performed and recorded with various bands/artists including Angel Down, Brian Simpson, Selena Garcia and Christia Mantzke. He has also continued to write and record some solo projects, including his most recent recording "Prodigal Child", which he wrote for his church's motorcycle ministry, Prodigalz MC. Currently, Glen is the Music/Worship director at Liberty Temple Church of God in Arleta, CA.
