Dubass

About Me

Dubass is Hand Panther/Idea Soldier MC Meatlip's longtime dumpster diving buddy/musical collaborrator. Initally concieved by Meatlip and Dubass to be an epic hip hop album, the debut Dubass release mutated into a dub masterpiece of magnanimous proportions. Imagine the sound of robots invading Lee "Scratch" Perry's Black Ark Studios ca. 1974 and you're only getting half the picture. Throw in the steely verbal improvisations of Dubass himself, some hardcore roots reggae instrumentation (courtesy of Idea Soldier head Anthony Estrada) and the industrial electronic knob tweaking and drum machine genius of one Nicholas Alan Rall, and the result is a head-spinning wild ride thru a post-apocalyptic world where robots are king and humans are the machine. Out now on Idea Soldier Sounds International.
