The Big Bear Hotshots is a region five, type one hand crew that fights fire all over the U.S. during the summer months. Although we are an "all risk" resource, our efforts are primarily towards forest fires. For five months out of the year, twenty of us become a family that spends many of its waking hours together on the road and in the dirt. At times, the crew can be extended up to fourteen days, out of state and committed to a fire. It's a great job that allows us to be outdoors and in some of the most beautiful areas of the country. We work hard and we have fun. We are the Big Bear Hotshots.
