I'm just a SimpleGuy w/ a SimpleDreams. I m me, just plain me. Nobody can change me that m not. Im the eldest & the only son in the family. A typical homey guy likes to dance & is a Frustrated SiNgEr...Loves to play badminton, play w/ his siamese cats named Scarlet & Rhet, assembling a toy vw beetle, fixing his real vw 66 bug, playing the cds musics, especially Diana Ross, Ricky Martin, R&B, Jazz & some cool musics. I also like swimming, playing the free cell & solitaire games here, surfing here at friendsters & myspace.com, cooking, eating, sleeping, cycling, skateboarding, going for a fresh air walk in the morning around the village, reading anything that interests me, praying to GOD,Jesus Christ & Mama Mary for all the beautiful things that ever happend in my life. Yes, life is indeed BEAUTIFUL. Try to be happy as well as being contended w/ what you have. I'm 5'7 in height, 124 lbs in weight, slim light figure built, & fairly pinkish complexioned.I was born Jesus Carlos Geronimo-Tibay on January 2, 1963 (Zodiac-Capricorn/Year-WaterTiger) to Engr. Victor Lara-Tibay Jr. & Arch. Virginia Angelina Geronimo-Tibay. I'm the first grandchild on both sides of my parents' families. Born with a proverbial silver spoons, I grew up in Caniogan & San Nicolas Pasig City.I have 2 sisters Jocelyn Shiela,40 & Marie Antonette,34...all still singles.During my early years, before my pre-school, I was a precocious God-given,very cute little child, who looked like Sto. Nino, the Infant Jesus. That's where my name came from! I even had a ring made by mama's mother (my lola Charing!) who also made my very first baby cradle fitted for a newborn Prince decorated with frills! ( My gosh!!!) & At first, I was a very quiet child who cried like a bird. My mama was worried that I would not be able to speak. Later on, with the help of my mama's mother (my lola Charing again!), they would go to see a "Quack Doctor" who advised her to cook a porridge rice with the female pig's organ as a solution to my being mute. Later on it proved to be very effective on my part. I became a very talkative & a very active child. Always talking & mincing everytime where nobody could understand me. I was speaking like a CHINESE!!! Hahahaha!!! Very FUNNY indeed!!! A spoiled brat!!! I was treated like a Prince! I was fond of playing around the family's compound at my papa's side. I was so hyperactive child, spoiled by both sides of my parent's families. My papa's a very good at playing the piano whose forte was jazz. The kind of a fast jazz-boogie music popular during that time. It was so nice to hear him play that eventually my natural God-given talent was explored. That was DANCING. My body rythyms just move naturally to the every beat of every notes of the piano that my papa is playing. No dance instructor & No television watching that time . (But later when television would invade the country like a hot commodity during that time...I would later watch my favorite tv programs, that have been all cartoons like Popoye The Sailor, Loonie Tunes, Superman, Ironman, Hulk, Captain America & Betty Boops. Eventually later then there was my other favorites like The Three Stooges, Bewitched, I Dreamed of Jeannie, The Avengers, Batman & The Samurai. Later on, I would become a tv addicts!) It was basically my natural instincts to dance. I remembered it was a jazzed inspired (Cross between ballet & modern dance)type of dancing that would now be called Modern Jazz now. Both of my parents' sides are suprisingly musically inclined. All my mama's sisters are a dancers & some of them plays the piano. In my papa's side, they are all into piano & some of them have a good singing voice most notably my papa & his mother (my grandma, lola Yonnie!). I was very popular in the neighborhoods in town as a kid. Many people thought that time that Jesus Christ was born again! All because of my very close facial resemblance to Sto. Nino, the little child Jesus. The news spreads around & that many people came to see me. I was very uncomfortable with the crowds. Why? They keep on staring & pinching me on the cheeks! Oh I wish that I wasn't exposed to the crowd & it was so bothering to me! I had my tantrums filled during those times! I became the MOST Popular Baby in the whole town that time! Both sides of my parents' parents are a well known figures, especially being a member & officers at the Lion's Club in Pasig during those glorious times. Yes! That was the golden age! They belong to the Elitist, socially prominent clubs in Pasig during that time. It was full of social & formal gatherings that I often get to see. That time was so full of glamour & extravaganza then.I studied my first schooling education at the San Nicolas Nursery School for my nursery in which my sister Shiela was my classmate then. She scored higher at I.Q. test than me that's why Shiela was accepted. We were classmates until Kindergarten. I was 5 yrs old & Sheila was 4 yrs old then when we started schooling. My talent in dancing was first exposed here during this time. So after that, I transfered to Our Lady Of Lourdes School of Mandaluyong for Preparatory. My talent in dancing was not explored here at Lourdes because during that time, dancing was not the cirricular activity yet. Then somehow during summer of 1970 just before entering grade 2, I had measles complicated with the infected tonsil, so I have to undergo operation called tonsillectomy for the removal of the infected tonsil. So that time I was being operated & I almost died during the operation which the doctor says that my heart stopped beating for a few seconds. So when they noticed that my heart was not beating. They have to revive me as soon as possible. & revived they did to me & it was a Miracle!!! Whew! I was at least given a second chance for life! That was the time my hearing started to detoriate. My doctor said that I was blowing my nose too hard which caused me to be almost deaf. Another cause is the too much strenght of the antibiotic that I was taking before. The diagnosis of my case is SENSORY NEURAL HEARING NERVE LOSS. My hearing grade is being from profound to severe type of hearing loss according to the audiologists. That means my hearing grade is high. I only have 15% hearing left on both side of my ears. That was the worst part of my life then. Then one time, there was a Spelling class & a test in spelling was going on. I was just merely asking my seatmate what the teacher as saying. That time my teacher caught me asking my clasmate during the test! She thought I was cheating. And that punishment involves taking off your pants & had to walk around the class naked! When I told the teacher what I knew was not right on her part & I made an answer back against her that she wasn't right. She was so "Scared" of me, so she prompted me back to my seat. I knew all right that this is a Catholic school exclusively for the boys. They should not do that to their students epecially the young boys. It's so immoral on the part of the teacher to do that kind of punishing the students. At least, I was able to defend myself. I knew how to speak my mind out. I'm so SNOOTY, FRANK & BRAVE when it comes to defending my rights. Florante Salvador, Wilfredo Sunico, & Eusebio Mangaliman were my Best Friend then. Then in 1971, we moved from Pasig City to Fairview Park, Quezon City.It was a very beautiful subdivision during that time. A housing project for the middle class government employees' families of the Government Service Insurance Systems(G.S.I.S.) where my mama works as an architect since 1963 of April's fools day! Fairview Park Subdivision was a really cool place to live in! I could even view the sunsets blaring brightly at our family's main living room's windows at the west side! The air was very fresh, clean & quiet. So serene & very beautiful sight! It was a far cry from living in Pasig's bustling, noisy, polluted, over crowded hot town that time! But that time Pasig was always flooded during the raining & stormy seasons. I would love to wade on the flooded street like a ducks then. Playing in the murky dirty waters that had even entered my family's former apartment living room ground floor! It was fun to play during that time in Pasig since my family's apartment is near the famous Pasig River just in front of the World's Biggest Public High School, Rizal High School, no less! My mama would get irked everytime she would see me playing in the floods waddling like a duck. I would get wet all over & get spanked again & again. I would go to the San Nicolas playground to play kite, ride on the seesaw, slides, & swings! I would love to ride in the horse driven "calesa" during that time everytime I go to market with my mama. I miss that scences so much then!I was still studying at Lourdes School of Mandaluyong which is quite too far from my new home. I was in grade 1 then. I was always late for going to school that time & also alway arrived home late. I haven't had the convenience of taking a school bus that time. I have to always depend on my very slow moving Papa who doesn't leave on time. It was so hard on my part really at that time. So until I've finished grade 3 at Lourdes School, I was transferred to Diliman Preparatory School along Commonwealth Ave., Quezon City which happens to be the nearest school from Fairview during that time. The Commonwealth Ave. ( formerly Don Mariano Marcos Ave.) area was surrounded by a lots of squatters & landfills just like a mountains full of garbages that time. I passed the entrance test at the Diliman Prep. School & was eventually accepted in. This time I had a schoolbus service (sometimes my yaya Mely Fernandez would fetch me. Wow! I can still remember her name!) & was comfortable then. That's only on my way home lang. Since I've been having a difficulty in hearing during class, I was made to seat in front & every examinations especially during spelling. The teacher (the late Ms. Elvira Feliciano) would have to say right in front of my face repeating twice or thrice. I was given special treatments in all subjects. I was their FIRST SPECIAL STUDENT. Except in Pilipino & Mathematics in which I'm not really too keen on learning them, my mom & my teacher agreed that I'll be tutored by her after class. So instead of taking my school bus, my mama would fetch me at school from her GSIS office in Philcoa nearby. I was at that time the Most Popular Kid in Diliman. Because of my uniqueness as student, I was both admired, bullied at, & envied at. Admired because, I was the Prettiest Boy at that time & the GRAND SLAM ESCORT for 3 years during my stay from grade 4 to grade 6. I was even considered PRETTIER THAN MOST OF THE GIRLS in school. I was the ONLY ENGLISH Speaking student that time. Bullied at because of my deafness & for being somewhat Stupid or labelled as a SLOW Learner then. It was so irritatting to me that my defense mechanisms started to react. I fought with all the Bully Kids & won the fight. Whoooaahh!!!! Envied at...to the areas that I excelled especially in dancing. I was always the STAR, always at the Center & always at all the programs in every school sections & grade classes. I remembered very well that guy(a certain Noel Glenn), who wanted to be a part of the dance group. He auditioned with me. He got disappointed that he was eliminated. I pitied him. I asked for consideration, but still they would not let him in. I felt so sorry for him. But anyway, it was really meant for me & that was the best part. That guy really excelled in class & that was fine. But when it comes to being on the STAGE....It had to be me. It was my FORTE...My Innate Talent...My Gift...for DANCING. I had 3 dancing parts during my graduation day. That was my biggest participation during that time. I was always the Most Applauded. It was a great feeling. Imagine that time the school doesn't have any speakers & sound systems. The only thing was a borrowed battery operated classic old "phonogragh" box-type of mine. My best friends were Emily Quine ( my 1st GF!!!), her best friend Josephine Makimkim ( a Nun now!), Luisito "Chito" Chavez (that Manila Bulletin Journalist!), Israel "Bong" Ramos, Joque Joson, Warren Arcilla, Marisol Guinto (USA based!) , Vivian Abad (USA based now since after graduating. She always borrowed my bike then. My Biking mate! Hehehe!)), Leonora Dela Cruz (oh where is she now? That girl from the squatter area near our school...I miss her! She is a very good friend of mine!), Angela Zaratan ( a very good friend of mine too!), Claudette Meneses( yap! That cute pretty petite girl! My crush & is based in USA), Eve Delos Reyes (The GIANT GIRL in our class! A very good friend of mine! USA based too!), Estanislao "TanTan" Delos Reyes, Emmanuel Arcilla,Vivencio Mendoza (that poor good boy! He got the guts to study despite his family's hardships just like Leonara Dela Cruz's), Joselito Quilala, Corina Roldan( the very tall & she's the prettiest girl that time! My crush too! I love her very much! I really do miss her a lot!) & May Emerald Gonzales ( she's our muse & my other crush! A nurse by proffesion in USA), Carmina Medado (my other crush too!), Norma Louella Malig (my other crush too! Oh that girl with a very STRICT mama! She use to borrow bike from me which her mama forbids! hehehe! I love her very much too!), the twins sisters Teresita Toledo 2 & 3, Fatima Porlucas, Joel Orance (he's a Dentist!) & Teresa Macaraeg, Rogelio Aquino ( a Policeman now,I guessed)...to mention a few...There are others whose name would have appeared here....Hope if ever they find this in MySpace.Com....hopefully they may have read this somehow...someday......I hope & pray that my page would be noticed....Oh I really do miss them all!!! What a memories there! After my elementary graduation...my mama wanted me to study in a big school...It's like I said...oh no! Not that big school again! I knew that I was not used to that. Of course that time No Schools would accept me because of my being hard of hearing & that also No teachers are fully trained to accept a deaf or hard of hearing like me. & besides for the facts is that I'm just an average or even below average student, I supposed so. The only school that would eventually accept me is St. Ignatius Academy Of Quezon City thru the referral of my mama's father. My mama's younger sister used to graduate there. It was a small building & each year have one rooms for the four years course in high school. It was just a simple laid back school. That time it was only 100 pesos per month for the tuition fee. Reasonable enough thou, but at least, I was able to finish high school. During my stay in high school, I was again elected GRAND SLAM Escort for 4 consecutive years. Always the dancer, Star & popular among the teens. It was also where I had my crushes too. But I never get em preggy or seriously involve with anyone. I can't take romance so seriously then. I have to focus on my studies because I can't let those other things bother me with my studies. It was hard, of course! But eventually I finished High School. Studing in a small private school made things easier for me because of the simple basic things in all techniques to the aspects of life outside the school. It was really happy & laid back. So simple. My best friends in high school were Rommel Banzon, Eric Cagahastian, Enrico Lao, Danny Pascual, Nina Escobar, Claire Maniego, Gertrudes Navarro, Emmanuel & Virginia Javier, Rowena Endozo, Virginia Tabar, Gil Dysuangco, Gerald Diaz, Santy Ricafort, Rodrigo Bao, Angelina Sarabia, & others whose names may not have apeared here....Thanks a lots that you've been in my life....Miss you all!!!
