KIRA: On the surface, it literally means "light", "shininess", and etc. supposed to illustrate the character is good. However, due to Japanese pronunciation, it usually serve as a double meaning, as it sounds like the English word "killer": usually this is used to indicate a character may have good nature or intention, but still ended up killing people.
