CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates)

About Me

Court Appointed Special Advocates,or CASAs as they are more commonly known, are trained volunteers who stand up for an abused or neglected child in the courtroom. CASA volunteers are the "eyes and ears" of the court. Their responsibilities include investigating the circumstances surrounding the case and then making an independent evaluation of what is in the best interest of the child. CASA volunteers are everyday people who care about children. They come from all walks of life. Many work full-time while others are college students, stay-at-home moms or retirees.
