I'm proud to be the class coordinator for THE GREAT BOSTON BURLESQUE EXPO , March 21-23 at The Hyatt Regency Hotel in Cambridge. If you're any kind of professional performer (or want to be), you should come to this event. It's not just for dancers! If you're interested in costumes... we have classes on costuming on a budget, hand-finishing costumes, and how to make pasties. Plus a fabulous costume exhibit displaying costumes from burlesque legends like Satan's Angel and Kitten Natividad and modern stars like Dita Von Teese. If you're interested in business... we have classes on marketing, producing a show, negotiating a gig, and more! If you're a dancer... there are fabulous technical classes on everything from Middle Eastern dance to chair dancing to The Delasarte Technique to performing with live snakes! A full day of classes (10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.) is only $45 if you register in advance — coming for both days is only $75, and coming for the whole weekend (every show, party, event, class, exhibit... everything!) is only $125.
