___________________________________________________________L uckyCharm Records was founded in 2005, although Flip knew it would play a big role ever since he was given the nickname in 1998 by 2 staff members af Fat Beats in N.Y.C. (Neil and Leesha)
Flip and Freeze met up around 2002 through a mutual friend Weezy a.k.a Ricky Sambo (he's had more name changes than P.Diddy).
They started a band called "THE TALENT SHOW" which consisted of mc's - G-Leech and K-Why, dj/producer - DJ FLIP and co producer/bass player - FREEZEMASTER SLICK, and for live shows double bass player- CONOR '0 CONNOR (thats his real name!)
After recording the world's best quality demo tape (possibly a little white lie in that sentence somewhere) and doing a few live shows we decided to knock it on the head. We all went our seperate ways, LEECH travelled the world, FLIP went on to compete in dj battles around the world (and win!). FLIP and K-WHY also went to help super group Messiah J and The Expert with their live shows, and the FREEZE moved to Manchester.
Enter 2005: Flip rang Freeze the call went along these lines "ayo dunny whats crackin?.... not much.... " kel needs me to make a beat for this diss track hes doing" oh word?..... "yeh, hows about for old time sake i come down to you and we knock some of that ol' classic shit out?... yeh lets do it.... "cool"! i went down we knocked out 'the response' "freeze this shit is too hot! i gotta come back down and we knock out some more hot shit!......yeh lets do that! hows saturdays for you? "cool," so every saturday FLIP would go to FREEZE's and make some new heat.
After months of knocking out heat after heat they both came to the conclusion they are both at their musical best when producing with eachother!
A bond formed, FLIP was with Acquisition Records (who are still his boys til the end) but being the restless fupper that he is wanted to start his own record label. He had the thirst ever since knockin out the "STOP FANTASIZIN" single early 2004 (even tho FLIP and FREEZE had made that beat early 2002) the story of how flip acquired the sample to stop fantasizin is a whole other story which will be made a blog soon!)
So FLIP met up with FREEZE and told him about his idea about a record label "LUCKYCHARM RECORDS" FREEZE liked it, with a bit of banter and a few ideas knocked around, here we are................
Flip and Freeze will be making songs in the near future with such rappers as Slug from Atmosphere! Buck 65! Foreign Legion! Prozack Turner and Marc Stretch! Freestyle (formerly of the Arsonists)! Rob Kelly! MyGrane McNastee! Messiah J! The list is endless!
