About Me

I hate talking about myself. It's not a self-esteem thing, I'm just not all that interesting. So, here goes - a brief battery of info about me for those who want to know.
I was born in an Army hospital on Ft. Polk in the great state of Louisiana on September 27th, 1978. I was the first born, but followed soon after by my brother (Joe) and a few years later by a my sister (Kristi or just "Kris"). In addition, we have recently been blessed with another brother and sister through adoption, Anna and Matt. I also have two sets of parents (that whole ugly divorce-thing), two nieces (Katy and Ashley), one nephew (Cody), two god-daughters (Genevieve and Jahnny) and all the extended family that anyone could want. My dad was in the Army, so I've traveled all over the U.S. In addition, we spent time in Germany (my favorite place outside of the States - there was still an East and West when I lived there), and I've visited Mexico as well. All that traveling kind of gave me this weird gypsy bug - I can't seem to get comfortable in one place unless I'm either traveling often or just up and moving. Anyway, we ultimately settled in Boise, ID in back in 1990, and I lived there (slowly going stir-crazy) until recently when I returned to California to attend school. I'm currently majoring in Sociology and Social Psychology (well, sort of), ultimately working towards grad school and post-graduate work in these fields. My ultimate goal is to teach (college-level) and do research although, truth be told, I'm not really sure on what just right now. Still plenty of time though, and it seems that I change my mind a little bit more every week these days.
Things I like include: honesty, taking pictures of clouds and the smell of rain, that feeling you get when your "second wind" hits while running or biking, when my fingers have pen/pencil marks on them from writing, a stack of books on my headboard, listening to other people talk and helping other people solve thier problems (so I can ignore mine for a bit), Italian food, cheese (even the stinky ones), music always playing (doesn't really matter what), old people driving well-maintained classical cars, looking at my lemon tree (she's sick now though - she's making these wierd lemon/lime/orange things), small fires (in pits and fireplaces, of course), and meeting new people that are nothing or everything like me.
Things that really bug me include: people talking with thier mouth full or during movie trailers, my dogs licking my feet (it just feels so... *shudder*), excessive volumes of candles (some are okay, but they are no substitute for natural light and too many mixed oders can be frustrating), the idea that eyeglasses are some sort of bygone technology from the dark ages (I can't even imagine living without them and I ain't puttin' me finger in me eye), mayo on anything, and people who constantly fish for compliments (I have my own esteem to tend to without having to bolster yours all the time thank-you very much).
That's enough for now I think... and likely more then anyone should know about me anyway. But I'm always willing to answer questions, so always feel free to ask if there's something you want to know.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I'm a very social person. Just about everyone is interesting in some way to me, so I can honestly say I like meeting/talking to anyone and everyone. If you see me on, IM me! I hardly ever ignore anyone, and love to talk about whatever (okay... almost everything... keep your creepy webcam opportunities and "special" offers that require me to visit another website to yourselves please - I am not interested).
