As it turns out, I am the most patient guy on the face of the Earth. Well, except for when I'm driving. But who's patient while they're driving? I mean, seriously, when you can get out and walk faster, how can you be patient? But beyond the confines of a car stuck in turtle-paced traffic, I am a very patient person. And I have the true stories to back it up. I'm a goof-ball, so I try to throw a lot of jokes into every chat. Sometimes it's funny. Sometimes not. As with everything in life, you can't win laughter without risk. Oh, and I know the importance of being a good listener and following directions. In elementary school, we had to take these crazy instructions tests. The teacher would give us instructions to follow and we would use a half a sheet of paper to draw what we were told to. If the drawing looked like the answer key, it passed. One day, the teacher gave us all a twist. The directions said to write your name on the paper, then to read through all the directions (there were about 30 of them) before proceeding to the next step. But I was lazy (and not yet the most patient person on the planet). All I saw were thirty steps to read and I had to get done with them. Who has time to read through everything before beginning? So, I worked my way through all the steps only to arrive at step 30 - "ignore and skip all steps three through twenty-nine." I failed the test! As it turns out, so did the whole class. Not a single one of us fourth graders took the time to follow what we were told. It ceratinly wasn't the last F I ever got. But even in the face of failure, I happily move onwards, uh, relatively speaking, of course. That's what being a patient goof-ball is all about!
