Band Members: Francesco Loi was born in 1975 in Uta, Sardinia, and approached to the flute when he was only six years old thanks to Sergio Pinna, and he got the diploma with highest marks at Conservatory of Cagliari when he was seventeen years old, thanks to the discipline and brilliant teachings about french school of his m° Salvatore Saddi.
In 1994 he met Massimo Mercelli and began a flautistic and musical study that allow him to play in a lot of festivals and exhibitions, to win competitions and to overtake the audition to come in Superior Conservatory of music of Geneva in the class of Maxence Larrieu where, two years later, he obtained the Premier Prix de virtuositè avec distinction.
From this moment he won many competitions: Ponchielli in Cremona, Yamaha in Milan, the prestigious Cilea of Palmi.
For his soloist activity he played with very important orchestras such as “Solisti aquilaniâ€, “Camerata strumentale città di Pratoâ€, “Deutchekammervirtuosenâ€, “Carlo Felice†of Genova and “Orpheus chamber orchestra†of New York.
He performed for “Amici della musica†of Florence and Bologna, festival “From Bach to Bartok†of Imola, “Teatro Massimo†of Palermo, music festival of Erl in Austria, festival of Emilia Romagna and many others.
He played for concerts in France, Switzerland, Germany, China, Japan, Cuba.
He performed in duo with Maxence Larrieu during “Severino Gazzellini†festival of Roccasecca, beginning of a brilliant collaboration.
From 1995 until 1997 he was first flute of “Orchestra Giovanile italianaâ€.
Winner of competition for first flute in “Camerata strumentale†of Prato, and he’s still permanent first flute of “Carlo Felice orchestra†of Genova, role owned not permanent in “San Carlo†of Naples, “teatro comunale†of Bologna, “teatro dell’opera†of Rome, “Maggio musicale fiorentinoâ€, “Arturo Toscanini philharmonic orchestraâ€, “teatro dell’opera†of Parma and Mozart orchestra of Claudio Abbado as well.
His first flute activity allowed him to perform under the direction of Carlo Maria Giulini, Riccardo Muti, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Metha, Eliahu Imbal, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Daniel Harding, Myung-Whun Chung, Alexander Vedernikov, Franco Rossi, Daniel Oren, Juanjo Mena, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos and Gary Bertini.
He is a guest artist of Falaut festival, an international show about world of flute, that has guests sush as Emmanuel Pahud, Maxence Larrieu and Sir James Galway.
