At the end of 2006 Oskar Villarreal (guitar) and Tonio Tejeda (guitar) met Armando Thamez (bass) when an old friend (Uriel Salinas) wanted to reunite members for a band called Erógena which Oskar and Tonio were part of back in 2003. Armando was very interested in this project. They started auditioning singers and Dulce Robles was selected from a group of excellent singers. Immediately they started composing some music and basic structures for the songs at Oskar’s home studio.
By the end of March 2007, Dulce started writing lyrics for the songs, including all the ideas the band had. Erógena was left behind and Vitruvius was born. During that year, the band composed most of the material and, when the songs were ready to be played on stage, they started accepting invitations to play in small local festivals, in places such as the Dada-X, a famous rock bar near to the Zócalo in Mexico City. Luis “Chunky†Martinez (drums) played with the band a couple times, but had to leave it because of personal issues. Soon Angel Espinoza (drums) joined the band and they’ve been playing together since then.
Vitruvius is currently recording their album debut.
