DJ Evan Steele (Square-1)

It has been an interesting progression for Square1 (formerly DJ Evan Steele). His roots lay deep in punk music and the live shows of Strung Out, Pennywise, Bad Religion and others. Always a student of many genres of music, hearing Utah Saints, Prodigy and the compilation "Hit the Decks" in his youth set the stage for things to come. Buying decks of his own in 2000 back home in Colorado, he immediately dove into the music he fell in love with first, Trance. The sounds of Tiesto, Van Burren, Acosta, Tandu, and Oakenfold set him free from the cage he had been previously living. Hooking up with a crew while in college in the mountains of Colorado, Internal Productions was born. While not the most visible or vocal of the crew, 1 felt a closeness he had yet to feel with a group of friends. Internal was and still is a group of like-minded musically gifted individuals who loved having a great time together. Internal is now across the country and has landed on the Korean Peninsula thanks to Helixsquared. 2001 lead Square1 away from his home in the mountains to sunshine and humidity of Central Florida. It was a difficult transition being away from his crew and friends, and the years proved less fruitful at first. It wasn't until 2005 that Square1 slid off the shroud of trance and started to move in new direction, House. It was this new found House energy that precipitated his residency @ the now defunct Lava Lounge in Orlando. After taking a break of sorts, Square1 is itching to get things started again, in yet again, a new direction, Drum n Bass. While always a fan of the like of LTJ Bukem, Dieselboy, and AK1200, 1 never felt the music inside of him. That is until now! Music is a never ending journey that takes all of us on a roller coaster ride of sound and emotion, however different they may be. Square1 only hopes that a few folks will jump on and join along on his ride. Big ups to those who keep the music alive!
