Exo

Exo started playing the electric and classical guitar in 1986 at the age of 9. Together with Axel Karsson and Petter Karlsson (now in Therion) he started the band Fuzzbox shortly after. The band changed name to Conspiracy in the early 90´s and played extensivly througout the south of Sweden. In 1991 at the age of 15, Exo participated in the national guitar contest “Guitar Battle” which resulted in a solo track on the CD “Guitarheroes of Sweden”. Conspiracy dissolved in 1993, spreading the members in different musical directions. Notably, Petter joined Master Massive and stayed for a 10 year period before hooking up with Therion.
Exo played in many local bands until he met Danish demon keyboard player Finn Zierler and joined Beyond Twillight (formerly Twillight) as lead guitarist in 1995. So far the band has released three CD´s worldwide on the Massacre label. The instrumental line-up has remained stable since then, with Thomas Fimpen Fredén - drums, Anders Devillan Lindgren - bass, Finn Zierler - keyboards, Exo - lead guitar and from 2004 Jacob Hansen on rythm guitar. The most famous lead singer in the band´s history in no doubt Jörn Lande, whos brilliant vocals brought acclaim to “The Devil´s Hall of Fame”.
Exo was one of the driving forces in re-shaping the original Master Massive line-up with Roger Petersson - vocals, Jan Strandh, lead guitar and Christer Rispling on drums. The band has been around in different shapes and musical directions since the early 80´s, but now Master Massive is back in a true old-school Heavy Metal style which has always been natural to them. Despite the band´s medial obscurity and absence from the recording industry, Master Massive is well connected within the Heavy Metal community. Jan has been a member of both Twillight and Notre Dame and Exo is also lead guitar player in Sobre Nocturne. Former members include Tim Skold (Marilyn Manson), Petter Karlsson (Therion) and Pekka “Stixx” Ollinen (Shotgun Messiah).
