About Me

Author of 'The Wilderness Road', a Civil War period historical novel of war, loss, and redemption. PLEASE NOTE: MY PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION WITH LIGHT SWORD PUBLISHING, LLC AND ANY OF ITS SUBSIDIARIES HAS BEEN SEVERED EFFECTIVE JUNE 24, 2008. WATCH THIS SPACE FOR NEWS REGARDING A NEW PUBLISHER AND FUTURE OFFERINGS. In the meantime, enjoy the book trailer for THE WILDERNESS ROAD. Disregard the 'Presented by Light Sword Publishing'.I live and work in Wyoming and thank God every day that the people I write for don't have web cams. Often nattily attired in my psychedelic, polyester, batwing robe with the big run in the butt~~~no makeup~~~no hairbrush~~~well, you get the picture~~~I spend my days tapping out stories filled with characters of my own making, but who often rub elbows with 'real' folks from the past.Visit HTTP://www.lgvernon.com for more information. My husband and I have adjoining offices and dueling computers. He serves as my research assistant and often emails answers to my burning questions through the fifteen feet that separate our CPUs. My office companion is a Jack Russell Terrier (terrorist, actually) named Rowdi. I have a wonderful, beautiful, brilliant daughter who's away at college.I edit two newsletters; one is literary, the other is not, and I work a couple days a week in a little bookshop.I cook, sew, and read, read, read.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Mark Twain, Bertrand Russell, Jane Austen, Albert Einstein, US Grant, Abe Lincoln, Robert E. Lee, Custer (just to ask him what the hell he was thinking), Pat Frank, who wrote the most amazing book~~~and then never wrote another. Any and all of my antecedents, just to see if they're as ecclectically-minded and terminally twisted as I. I'd love to hug Ray Charles, sit at BB King's feet, and tell Clapton what a genius he is. I'd like to thank Johnny Cash, dance with Trace Adkins, and slap Janis Joplin for cheating us all out of more of her.
