I discovered The Debi Graham Band at the Gay Pride Festival one year. Her voice is so powerful! To watch this woman on stage makes a girl think twice about her sexuality! To hear some of their music go to : http://www.debigrahammusic.com .
Other stuff: Sinead O'Connor (I know, but read on...) if you can get past the "Nothing Compares to You", her voice can be very powerful. It's very touching not to mention the Irish folk influence makes it beautiful.
On the other hand, I love Korn, KMFDM, anything Maynard - Tool, Perfect Circle. Maynard - he's a genius with an amazing voice who creates music with bizarre sounds, melodies and intense thought provoking lyrics perfectly blended together as a work of TRUE ART. Most who call themselves "musicians" these days are far, far, far, from what the definition of such began.
I pretty much enjoy anything I can sing at the top of my lungs to - It makes me feel strong. I suppose that's why I enjoy watching artists who perform as though they are emotionally invested into their music. Plus, some of those people on American Idol are hilarious!

I love dancing to industrial and techno/trance as long as there is room to move. It reminds of being a kid and just dancing for hours with my eyes closed. I DO NOT do the glow sticks and acid bit though.

As far as nightlife, I try to go dancing at least one night, every weekend. All my girlfriends get together and we have a few drinks and a great time
Music is always on somewhere around me. I usually keep my ITunes on all day at work and sing all day while I work. In an office full of guys, it can sound pretty silly but hey, I'M SPECIAL!
Movies:

Matrix, LOTR, Mullholland Drive, Fight Club, anything that makes you have to use your brain to enjoy it. Ok, LOTR doesn't but cmon it was beautiful! I can't stand chic flicks, they simply are NOT reality!
When I was about 12, my mom made me walk out of movies with boobs in them (I think it was Back to School with Rodney Dangerfield) and say at the top of her lungs WELL, THIS IS JUST DISGUSTING. I guess that's why I like a little porn now and then...lol. If she only knew.....
I LOVE horror or suspense. I am so into a good scary flick that my ambition to find that one noone knows about has led me to discover GREAT comedies! Anyone listen to Cary, Bill and Gina on X96 in the a.m? Ya, I might as well be Punk's advisor. I suggest movies for him to review and he's actually already done them! That is, when I have any spare time these days...
Television:
LOST is my FAVORITE! I STILL don't have a clue as to what the hell is going on but it'd better be good! The suspense is killing me. I am sure I will be let down but I am enjoying the ride! These types of shows can never reach that ultimate climax you cant forget. Usually it's soooooooo enjoyable but takes forever, ending with a "oh...that's it?" But I'll take the entertainment if I have time.
I love Shatner...... He was outstanding in Boston Public. I swear those two are a perfect match (Shatner and the other guy).
I never have time to watch tv and my DVR was great for that if I didnt fill it up before I had time to watch something so now I just download anything I want to watch and if I get around to it, I get around to it. Honestly, laundry time is about all I have. I'd much rather spend my free time doing other things!!
Books:
Jack Chalker's Flux and Anchor was awesome, he blends fantasy with sci-fi (which I really don't like too much) and adds a little freaky to make it a truly genius series. I actually wrote him and he wrote me back...I was a little star struck for a while. Sara Douglass Wayfarer series..OMG...I cant put it down! Im reading #5 now...It's soooo good, similar to Jack Chalker style I suppose. Anne Rice's Taltos series and Ok, ok, I loved Harry Potter too...cmon they were really cute! Ken Follet, Dan Brown of course, Harlen Coben, etc. My nephew, Lee is currently feeding me some Tom Holland. Its REALLY good so far. One character in the book is Lord Byron the poet. A quote for you:

Truthfully, Im my OWN hero! I have noone else to count on to save my ass if I screw up or slack off. It's all up to me. I have been through hell and brought myself back. I will do whatever it takes to keep myself on a path toward a happy, peaceful, enjoyable life.
