About Me

Myspace Layouts at Pimp-My-Profile.com / Just a heart

My journey started in April 2000 when I was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease or ALS. 'but that's alright, that's OK, life's worth living anyway'. Just ripped off Martha Wainwright there but that lyric sums up how I feel. I didn't expect this journey but I don't regret it at all.
I was born and brought up in East London. I got married in 1993, have a daughter and son, divorced in 2004 because my ex became violent when I was diagnosed. After 13 years together he saw only my illness, not me anymore, pretty strange! That's OK too, I have my kids with me and a pretty peaceful life.
I've had relationships since my divorce and now I see myself not only as an ill person but as an exhuberent and vital woman. I don't like being disabled but there's nothing I can do about it, but get on with it! And I do that with enthusiasm. I present for the MND Association which I really enjoy, as well as writing articles, case studies, etc.
My family mean everything to me along with wonderful friends and carers. Contrary to popular belief I consider myself to be extremely fortunate.
