The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention actually reported that 54.5 million people are uninsured.
The amount of uninsured is rising every year, as premiums continue to skyrocket and wages stagnate. From 2004 to 2005 the number of uninsured rose 1.3 million, and rose up nearly 6 million from 2001-2005.
18,000 Americans will die this year simply because they're uninsured.
A baby born in El Salvador has a better chance of surviving than a baby born in Detroit.

Where I live, South Dakota, my doctor told me that the only clinics here in Sioux Falls that will take you if you're uninsured are the county and free clinic. So I'm probably not even allowed to see my doctor when he finishes his residency even if I pay cash. At this time he works one day a week at the county health services. He has helped me so much and I hate to lose him!
Last year my doctor thought I might have cancer. He wanted me to have all kinds of tests. I have no insurance since I quit my job due to health problems, so I could not get what he wanted done. I figure if I had cancer, maybe I'd be dead by now! Ha! But still wanted the tests because cancer genes have been found hereditary in my family. Both my mother and grandmother died from cancer of the female organs. So many people in my family have died from this terrible disease! It's scarey as hell to me... guess I will just let what happens happens, when your time comes it comes... but hate to think of dieing in such awful pain!

For 14 years I was a truck driver and when I quit I became a supervisor at a travel center. I worked at the travel center (truck stop) for four years, then had to quit my job due to health problems.
Now I'm a stay at home wife, which is first time I've ever done that in my entire life, but I LOVE IT! I can do what I want, when I want and my hubby is so sweet to want me to stay home! I LOVE HIM DEARLY!
I believe in truth, thoughtfulness towards others, love from the heart... always, no backstabbing, always a friend til the end! And FAMILY is number one!
I believe in the unexplainable such as ghosts and aliens since I have had many experiences with both since I was a child. If people don't believe me so be it!
In my spare time, I like to make things and fix old things until they look beautiful again. I recently refinished my bedroom furniture and it looks really nice. That project was alot of fun!
Lately I'm getting back into drawing, but it's been a long time. My son is an awesome artist and I wish I was as good as he is!
