Stenson and Robinson

About Me

In 1992, nine-year old Matt Robinson received a penpal letter from lil' Mike Stenson. They were forced to communicate between elementary schools to receive their gold stars for the week. A year later, Stenson joined forces with Robinson, and they both took over the Garrettford Elementary school yard with jingles and tunes (such as "Ghost of John" and "Fifty Nifty States") that will be forever ringing in the students ears. In 5th grade, Robinson's ego went ballistic when he thought he could overpower the throne of the Fricks. Stenson was ashamed of his buddy, so they decided to go their separate ways when middle school came around. Years later, Stenson and Robinson found themselves at the same audition for the infamous band, "Fat For A Reason." Along with two other eccentric bandmates, the boys played all over town with their original master catalog of songs about girls that they would never in this life time have a chance with ("Spoonfed Bows and Arrows," "Beard of Bees, "The Day I lost You," etc). The band fell apart with the aftermath of "The Creek Incident," and Stenson and Robinson decided that they needed to take action in their own hands and start entertaining the people with acoustic renditions of their own material, as well as covers of songs from their own favorite artists. They took on the world during the summer of '01, playing at every corner coffee shop, Starbucks, and even a 3-show contract with Borders Books and Music. When they came down from their caffeine high, college had approached and some personal turmoil caused the duo to part ways again. It looked like the end of Stenson and Robinson...FOREVER.Time passed. 5 years, give or take a few seasons. The power of the internet had brought them together once more. After a few exchanges of stories and inside jokes, Stenson and Robinson had decided it was time for a reunion. After reuniting at the Burlap & Bean in December 2007, SnR decided it was best to keep the tradition of booking at least one show a year during the holiday season. Now fans can look forward to the "Stenson & Robinson Holiday Special," as well as presents and tinsel on the Christmas tree. So keep listening to those old copied CDs, and rock out with this town's biggest acoustic act since Jim Croce's visit to the Collenbrook. Stenson and Robinson are ready to fill your ears and hearts with old songs, new material, and stupid inside jokes that no one will ever get. See you in December. Bah-Stenson & Robinson
