BARBRA KELBO .....Vocalist Extraordinaire .... It seems there's a new entertainer in our neighborhood we call the Central Valley, a vivacious young female vocalist hailing from the island of Puerto Rico. She calls herself BARBARA KELBO. An exceedingly beautiful woman with an extraordinarily developed voice coupled with an unfectious personality and a repertoire covering several genres of music. Her repertoire is nothing short of extensive with music for all occasions. Her list of cover tunes songs goes for ever...Barbra was born in New York, USA. She was raised in Puerto Rico, the country of her nationality. Barbra was a member of several groups on the island singing Salsa, Merengue, Cha Cha Cha, and countless American standards. her most recent involvement was with the Richport Band leaving in her wave an album and several television performances.Barbra competed in International competitions and events, most notably the 1997 Festival de "La Voz y La Cancion Iberoamericana", held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 1996 competition. "Voz De La Cancion", held in the Instituto de Arte y Cultura, Viejo San Juan, Puerto RIco, Barbra was the winning vocalist. Currently, Barbra has moved to the mainland and has engage in her first crossover album project with members of the Latin music community based in the Mission District and Bayarea, in San Francisco, CA. Since her arrival in July/2004, Barbra has performed at the "Cascada Club", "Rudy's Jazz and Bluess", both clubs based in Merced, CA. In San Francisco, Barbra has made apperances at the "Club Rasellas", "Club Suade", "Pier 23", and was invited to entertain at the opening of San Francisco newest post night club, "The Medjool". . . . Along with the bands participations, Barbra as a solo artist, brings out the true Salsa and Merengues and all time favorites for your dancing or listening pleasure...SINCE MIDS OF 2006 ! ! !Barbra Kelbo has joing the S A F A R I Band from the San Francisco Bay area, here in California.
