About Me

from birmingham just moved back after finishing a degree in archeology, ancient history & anthropology. i can't find a job and i'm half irish, hurrah.
currently trying to become a film director along with my buddy oliver jones under the production company better feeling films . we've been "finishing" a zombie movie "aim for the dead" for about two years. we also make music videos for cash and shorts for other.
the best movies I have ever made was when I was 12 and involved me running around with a cape on pretending to shoot fireballs. those were the days.
i wish i was a superhero, that would be cool. thought i wouldn't want to be superman or batman, too much publicity. i'd rather be a bit lower down the roster. super speed would by far be the coolest power but i'd settle for some kind of power ring though, as long it can do whatever i will it too. i'd have to work out more if i ever wanted to look good in a cool costume.
i also want to go time traveling, i'd never tried building a full time machine, once i started to build a flux capacitor but before i knew it, it was bed time, and i never got back to it.
yes, i like comic books and superheroes. green lantern, booster gold and animal man being my favourtie heroes. i also love watching next generation, listening to the mountain goats and playing video games - i regularly compete in LANs around the country not that i'm anywhere near good enough to win anything.
i also have many pets, three cats and two rats. they are great and all.
i like to cook and i'm rather good at it, much too the liking old old uni housemates. cooking is great because it allows you to drink wine. wine is great, especially red. bushmills whiskey and hendricks gin are also fantastic for the soul.
dave eggers once said; "i love the dark part of the night after midnight and before four-thirty. when it is hollow and ceilings are harder and are farther away. then i can breathe, and can think while others are sleeping, in a way i can stop time." i couldn't put it better myself - so i'm not going to try.
now and again i say "computer end program" and just hope.
you'll be able to find me on irc .

My Interests

comic books, film making, any movie where you can tell the people who made it cared about what they were doing, mainly acoustic music but I like a lot of electronica stuff too and not just contemporary music, live music is always good, sleeping, tea (it is good anytime of the day), the dark/quiet part of the night between 0:00 and 4:30, superheroes, mountain goats, time travel, green lantern mainly kyle rayner, diagnosis murder, the zelda games, street fighter 2, quantum leap, irc, SNES and 16 bit gaming, arcade machines, rpgs, zombies, bowling, harmonica, cherry coke, budvar beer, red wine, bushmills whiskey. close friends.

I'd like to meet:

I would like to meet Bruce Campbell, Dick Van Dyke and William Shanter and buy them all beers. Man that would be a party. As they are all great influences on me, I would love to meet John Darnielle, Geoff Johns, Dave Eggers and Wes Anderson but not at the same time. In fact I'd like to meet every comic book writer who I've read a comic by and loved, that's one hell of a lot of them infact. I would like to meet Batman but I feel this is a lost cause. He's gotten very moodly lately too. I would like to meet Ethan Ace, I would bring Gin. Actually if loads of people I wanted to meet got together and played Pop-up Pirate that would be awesome. Pirates are awesome.

To be honest I just want some beer, or wine, or a cup of tea. Not all at the same time though.
