ACDC COVER BAND RIFF RAFF DRUMMER PETE

ACDC Specialised Drummer for Bonfire & RiffRaff

About Me

I first answered an add in the Age Gig Guide 1994 for a band wanting a drummer for an ACDC covers band, i had had previous experience in several cover bands ranging from metallica to judas priest, even originals. So i decided to give this a go, they auditioned me and about 50 other drummers and well, i got the job. We were together as Bonfire for 12 years doing gig after gig before falling by the wayside and i found myself just lying dormant and wasting away. I tried out for other bands and got the jobs but the feelings just were not there as it should so they were left behind also. I got sick of sitting around after having studied Phil Rudd ACDC and Peter Criss KISS for over 20 years and also the moves and feel of the Young brothers so i decided to put a band together myself. I started out on Melband with an add and had 5 willing Band members by the end of the week, YES A WHOLE BAND TOGETHER IN 1 WEEK UNREAL , first being a bass guitarist (Rohan) who was hired immediately, having his background centered around other working ACDC cover bands also. Second was a budding young guitarist who desperately wanted to join a band with BALLS and Professional attitudes, his guitar playing skills and his keeness to get it down have blown myself and the rest of the band away and is quickly adapting to the ways of an Angus (keep up the good work bro). Thirdly i needed a Rythmn guitarist so naturally i rang Gray also from Bonfire whom i already knew would back my ideas in success, so automatically he was cast in being one of the best Malcolm Youngs around. OK the band is all here but we need a singer so i remembered a bloke auditioning for a band i was also auditioning for at the same time - Riffinery (which needed alot more refining than they realised), Jeffro who had a fantastic unique voice that backed us up in the studio for quite sometime before parting on good terms with us all. Damn minus a singer again i recruited back yet another Bonfire colleague Ming who is now out front on Vocals and is the best i have heard at Brian Johnson (Shoot to Thrill) posted on this site. We are once again a band and are ready to rock anywhere you want us too, ACDC is in our veins, our heads, our amps, my stix, and still on our Radios so LETS GET IT UP , RIGHT UP , Hahha LET RIFF RAFF FLICK YOUR SWITCH, BLOW UP YOUR VIDEO, AND RAM SOME POWERAGE ON YOUR HIGHWAY TO HELL , Pete

Influences: Well my influences stem from my history, ACDC and KISS mainly, although having played in different cover bands i have picked up various techniques and styles required as i went on. That being Guns n Roses, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Sabbath, Led Zepp, Airbourne, Angels, Rose Tattoo, Thin Lizzy, Motley Crue, Heaven, Wasp, etc...... all da hevvy stuff. I started drumming at the age of 12 (grade 6) and after drumming for 10 years i decided to go back to basics and start lessons again, so i went to Bill Mackins (Mackins Drums) in Sth Caulfield and was taught all the basics all over again from an elderly man called Harold whom by the way also taught Angus (John Farnhams Drummer). I was taught on Angus' kit and jammed with John a couple of times as they rehearsed there at Mackins a couple of times. I was at a party with the then Runnaway Boys (Now Living End) and we set up in a garage at corrigan road and played to the passing cars which turned into a crowd quickly, great party and Stray Cats Rule :) .
