New Awakening

New Awakening was founded in 2007 by Ã…smund Reksten Scheie, and has spread into becoming a small group of musicians and song writers focusing on spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ trough music and lyrics. We had our debut concert on 27/10/07 in Salem Misjonsmenighet, which is an avarage church in Kristiansand, Norway. Most of the lyrics focus on revival and waking up the church, but some of the songs focus on a non-christian audience aswell. The theme song, which the group also got its name from, is called "The New Awakening", and is taking the audience on a trip through history focusing on the four great awakenings and the main people involved like Count Zinzendorf, John Wesley, Charles Finney, Smith Wiggelsworth and Billy Graham. Trough this we want to inspire Christians to day not only to kneel down to pray for a new awakening, but also to step out in faith and fullfil the great comission. Our vision is wake up the church and to prepare the way for a New Awakening! Check out "videos" for a little preview.
