It all started in December 2005, when Putri, Echaboi, and Adis, who used to play music like MUSE
and Radiohead together, felt bored and decided to play some rock ‘n roll. They found Bunx, who
screams like Robert Plant and rides his motocross like Johny Storm.
The band is influenced by The Datsuns, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Jimi Hendrix, and other
rock acts. Taken from one of Mars Volta’s songs, the name Cerpintaxt doesn’t have any specific
means, it just feels good to be said.
Cerpintaxt’s first gig was on March 24th 2006, at KBL ITB. Their second gig was on April 1st
2006, at GSG ITB, with a help from Vian (guitarist of Jelly Belly) as additional guitarist. After
their first two gigs, the band didn’t continue the journey well, due to the need of guitarist other
members can’t cover, and their college tasks which exponentially grew.
After 7 months doing nothing, they found Hanif, a multi-talented musician who also have a great
interest in music recording. Cerpintaxt started to create their own music. They periodically
gather around and play together. On March 2007, the band’s already have their own two songs,
and they had their first gig again, with Hanif as guitarist, on the Pra-Event of Ganesha Music
Event 2007, April 1st, at Blitz Megaplex Stage, sharing stage with Vincent Vega and Olive Tree.
Now, having more songs, the band’s going well, creating much more music, and searching for
more gigs to play. Long live rock ‘n roll!
