I am here for Friends

About Me

I have been a garage rock fan for ages.. I was in London during Summer of 67, never fully recovered..During the first half of the 70's, I did not really follow the prog rock thing and survived thanks to the Flamin Groovies and to The Modern Lovers. I have been a fan of Jonathan Richman's ever since then. see the webzine edited by Alan, Bob, RB and myself at http://jojofiles.blogspot.com The Groovies were the ultimate rock band, perfect musicians, great singer and classy look. Obviously I liked their European spiritual sons as the Barracudas. The mighty Fleshtones are in my Pantheon or ever.I got also interested in the Boston music scene and I find it still very innovative up to nowadays. I am a die hard fan of the Downbeat 5, here they are!! THEY RULE. and of the Dents, of Lyres obviously of the Real Kids and of the Classic Ruins as well as of the Varmints. Best concerts I saw, there is Roy Loney and the Phantom Movers in 1984, Flamin Groovies with Chris Wilson in 72, and with Mike Wilhelm in 78, here is Chris singing "Slow Death"in Paris in May 09, with a little help of his friend ex-Groovie and Phantom Mover James Ferrell. Soft Machine in 67',Dr Feelgood with Wilko Johnson in 74..

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

My friends from the US whom I see once every ten years, and also friends of myspace and from the Jonathan Richman list whom I haven't had a chance to meet yet. And for namesdropping sake there is also Carl and Franck from the Classic Ruins, Francois who loves the Boston scene as much as me and my pal Patrick, Jen and JJ from the Downbeat 5, the mighty Fleshtones (actually this list could go on like "American beat")...
