I enjoy perfect health as well as a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology, specializing in social organizations, social welfare, and social services. I also have a Bachelors of Arts degree in Women’s Studies, specializing in women’s psychological, emotional, and physical health. Both degrees were attained from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I am currently obtaining a Masters Degree in History and Archival Information Administration and well as Women’s Studies.I maintain my health by using the products of my International Tea Company: Tea For You, which specializes in gourmet teas geared toward specific ailments and/or bodily maintenance. I continuously heal my body and mind with Dance, tapping into my experiences as a Dancer with the Dance Theatre of Harlem, Alvin Ailey, Philidanco Dance Company, classical ballet training from Madam Yao at the Center for Creative Studies, Detroit High School for the Fine and Performing Arts (DSA), a full Dance scholarship from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Katherine Dunham Dance Company, Marygrove College, Internationally Acclaimed Teacher David Howard, as well as experiences in theatre. Doing such productions as A Midsummer Nights Dream, Purlie, and Hamlet, and working with various theatre companies such as: Mosaic Youth Theatre, and The Historical Theatre for the Creative Arts.Knowledge of make-up as a MAC Pro artist and affiliate for Victoria’s Secret Beauty came in handy as I choreographed for the Detroit Council of the Arts and various stage productions, as well as commercial/advertisement shoots and freelance writing for Honey Magazine’s beauty section, modeling for Arylin Talley, Margaret Baker Brown, the Festival for the Creative Arts, and Motown. Singing and technical vocal and music training with Diva Terry Crawford as well at DSA was applied when I recorded music with artists such as: 20/20, Sundiata O.M., Killer Smuv, Doe Dubbla, Da Project and various other artists.Writing expands the counsiousness and as a freelance writer and poet for NOIR Magazine, and the Detroit Institute of Arts I concentrate on articles and pieces on social interests that effect our times, spiritual consiousness and awareness, and political issues. I am a certified Domestic Violence, family, and relationship counselor and have worked with Safehouse, Ann Arbor Michigan, and Jewish Vocational Services; coordinating their CTC Program, which focuses on teens with mental, physical, and emotional disabilities. I also work with the Career Initiative Center in downtown Detroit acting as a fundraiser, promoter, singer, and motivational speaker at numerous events. These experiences led me to mentoring young adults and motivational speaking for the Detroit Public school system through the Historical Theatre for the Creative Arts. This allowed me to establish my own company branched in Chicago called Active Women Against Rape and for Empowerment, or AWARE. AWARE focuses on young women of color and self-esteem building, counseling, and the improvement of overall health. I am also certified in Recipient Rights, and Rehabilitation Technician Training.All of these parts of myself make up OJ Artistic Enterprises, Inc., this is the umbrella company for La Petit Ballet Company, Tea For You, OJ Entertainment, Sisters of Dance, and AWARE.
