I'm a musical schizophrenic, probably the reason for so many playlists on my MP3 player. I'm into 80's punk and new wave, surf, progressive/experimental, chill/downtempo, hardcore, metal, alt. country, blues, jazz, classical, 70's AM radio pop, Motown, comedic music and I love the orchestral NFL Films music from the 60's and 70's.
As a guitarist, I like anything interesting and tasteful and though I am influenced by your top of mind guitarists such as Hendrix, Page and Van Halen.....I tend to gravitate towards more eclectic guitarists, that are also great texture players, like: Andy Summers, Johnny Marr, Billy Duffy, The Edge, Alex Lifeson, Michael Hedges, Gerry Leonard, Robert Fripp, Adrian Belew, Josh Homme, Jerry Cantrell, Brian May, Jerry Reed, Chet Atkins, Billy Gibbons, Eric Johnson and David Gilmour.

BIO:
The female fronted pop/rock band - The Bright - officially formed in 2005 (formerly known as Superstring) in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX by vocalist Julie Lange, bassist Miguel Fair and guitarist Kell Curtis. After releasing a full-length album in late 2005 (By All Means) they were joined by guitarist Taylor Tatsch, drummer Cooper Heffley, who was later replaced by Robert Yahne and producer/keyboardist Eric Jenkins. With an award winning HD music video (“If You Want Itâ€), a debut album, extensive shows under their belt and even a tour of the west coast in late 2007, the band went to work on another full-length release entitled “In Lucid Dreamsâ€. After pre-releasing several songs from the album as an EP (“Pull Me Apartâ€) for the 2007 summer tour, the band felt the new name was more reflective of the new music.
Described as “that strange collective with a penchant for writing the most radio-friendly songs this side of LA – we mean that in a good way,†by the Dallas Observer, The Bright’s sound is influenced by 80’s new wave and synth pop, 90’s Brit and dream pop, yet always guitar driven with even a dash of 70’s British rock. To be referred to as a “collective†is a fitting description. It has a feel of being more than just a band with a couple of key songwriters and the rest merely performers. Each member of The Bright brings accomplished songwriting skills adding individual thumbprints to every song.
The singles “Cemetery Streetâ€, “I’ve Got a Feeling†and “Almost Maybeâ€, from their full-length album “In Lucid Dreamsâ€, has been prominently featured in season 4 (episodes 16, 18 and 20) of MTV’s wildly popular reality show “The Hillsâ€. Additionally, the song “Severity†is set to be the title track for an upcoming video game produced by the Cyberathlete Professional League and Escalation Studios. “In Lucid Dreams†was recorded at Bass Propulsion Labs in Dallas, TX and was produced by Eric Jenkins, engineered by Eric Jenkins and Taylor Tatsch and is available for download on iTunes.

PRESS AND QUOTES:
“This Dallas-based band is making waves with dynamic vocalist Julie Lange singing out over a modern-rock sound that combines an alternative edge with a power-pop sensibility. The boys in the Bright serve up a diverse array of guitar-driven sonic landscapes for Lange to work with, making for an album that is uniformly strong throughout.†-
