..............................Christella began playing piano at the age of 6. She was classically trained and gained her BTEC in popular music from Clarendon College, Nottingham in 1999. Her first MD experience came when she was invited to Germany to work with a band, as a representative of Clarendon College. At 17 Christella started her band Colour Wealth, where she was composer and MD and awarded Best Band in Nottingham at the Carling Band Nation competition beating over 900 other bands. In 2001 Christella gained her BA (Hons) from Bretton Hall and it was whilst at the college that Geraldine Conner insist that Christella pursue her vocal talent, following her first-ever singing performance. Geraldine also offered Christella a lead role in Carnival Messiah, which she has performed since 1999. She was chosen as one of 3 to represent Carnival Messiah at the World Carnival Conference in Trinidad in 1999. This opened up a host of opportunities to study and work with world class musicians from a diverse range of musical genre.......In 2002 she toured with Beverley knight (UK tour) and Jamiroqui (Japan Tour) as a backing singer in a support band.....Over the past decade She has spent time in Trinidad Studying under her Mentor Ella Andall, one of Trinidad's most renowned World Music Artists, with whom she has worked on her last two albums and toured the Caribbean as part of the World Music and Jazz festivals (St Vincent and St Lucia 2005-2006) As Ella's Backing vocalist and Keyboardist, she was honored to sing for Nelson Mandela in 2005 as part of his World tour. During her time in the Caribbean, Christella has also collaborated with some of Trinidad's most Popular Artists such as 'Andre Tanker', 'Eric Michaud', 'Theron Shaw', 'Tony Vosin', 'Jegbe Andall', 'Redman','Lion', 'Roy Cape' 'Agape'-(Vocal Choir) and Kenny Phillips (Producer K.M.P and W.A.C.K radio) Christella continues to return to Trinidad regularly and is currently working on her own Album...................
