The Man.
Born in London, England to Mauritian parents then moved to Toronto from the tender age of 6, Terence is for all intents and purposes a Canadian. But he does have dual citizenship, so he is free to wander the world if he so wishes. Prague would be nice....
The Myth.
It is believed that he eats bark when very hungry and may even have a satanic symbol etched on his skull. Some people think he's so cool he pisses ice cubes. In fact he is "The Kitchen Devil".
The Legend.
There was a story going around that Teeloo could read the minds of others, as he once finished someone else's sentence. This remarkable feat has not and will not ever be proven. Any attempt to refute this claim will be met with a question mark.
The DJ.
Teeloo's Kitchen has been a purveyor of fine music for over a decade in Toronto. Throughout the years, Teeloo's Kitchen has been able to evolve as a vinyl connoisseur, expanding his musical palette as he traveled to the far reaches of the world. It is this intimate knowledge of the dance music scene and the ability to articulate any genre or style that makes Teeloo's sets so interesting.
With the majority of the club DJs of today playing and buying from the same bins at the record store, Teeloo's programming is a bit more eclectic, blending 70's rare groove and latin, 80's soul and electro, 90's trip hop and the latest minimal tech house. With such a diverse palette, his music style is not easily defined. What it is NOT is mainstream. Keeping this in mind, Teeloo is careful not to be exclusionary either, sensitive to the reality that he is playing for the audience, keeping a balance between interesting and appealing. Perhaps is best to describe it as sexy, smooth and sophisticated.
The Designer.
The other Teeloo is a professional graphic designer. He started his career a doing club flyers and at one point was THE flyer king. He did virtually all of the early rave flyers in Toronto. He did almost all of these: Chemistry, Better Days, Pleasure Force, Syrous, Liquid Adrenaline, Industry. Some old school examples can be found here .
The Chef.
The other Teeloo is a chef known as The Kitchen Devil. More to come on this little known deity...
