Like a Phoenix from the ashes of “Pillow†and the Legendary “Stiff Meatâ€, Matt Young and his guitar wielding partner in crime Danny O'Keeffe of "The Hated" and "Seduna", had a vision: To form a band that will be just too awesome for words.
The pair found drummer Mikey Hogan amongst household refuse at the Brunswick garbage dump, smashing pots and pans, and TIGERNAUTS were born.
None-the-less, the rules of music promotion denote that we need a BIO to help familiarise all newcomers to the oncoming juggernaut that is TIGERNAUTS.THE BANDMatt Young: BASS/VOX – His Rock and Roll CV, whilst impressive, does not truly show the scope of his potential. He is simply without fear, and his throbbing bass and vocals ooze sex and violence.Mikey Hogan: DRUMS – This awesome drummer has been described by his peers as a hidden treasure. He is relentless and without mercy, literally hitting each beat as if his life depends on it.Danny O’Keeffe: GUITAR/VOX – A blistering lead guitarist who somehow manages to keep it all together whilst being surrounded by madness. Don’t be fooled by the Prison Ink…..he really is a likeable Motherfucker.Kicking off their maiden voyages to the stage in 2008, TIGERNAUTS have earned the respect of their peers, clocking up supports for The Supersuckers (USA), Mondo Generator (USA), Winnebago Deal (UK), Airbourne, Blood Duster and Cockfight Shootout as well as being included in the Cherry Rock 008 festival.Like the bastard sons of Poison Idea, Turbonegro or The Who, TIGERNAUTS are dedicated to delivering visceral tales of the uncouth, unwashed and unsober. From the moment they walk on stage you realise you’re going to have to brace yourself. Much like a vigorous boxing workout; they can be intimidating at the time, but after they walk off stage you will feel invigorated, without fear of Man or Beast.
