About Me

Mr. Caribbean was born Jose Feliz in Brooklyn At the age of one, his Family Moved to Santo Domingo on the beautiful island of the Dominican Republic, where he stayed until age 10. By this time he was already heavily influenced by the tropical sounds of Merengue, Bachata, Salsa, Soca music, and most importantly, Reggae. After moving to Jamaica, his love for Latin music grew even more. At this point he began his immersion into the music industry when he formed his first Reggae group Bomba and collaborated with the artists Ambush and Ridden, a hip-hop artist. After six years of success and a couple Radio interviews on La kalle 99.3 and 94.5 VFX, 91.3 FM,Mega in Philadelfia as well as a few cameo appearances on Television, including Hollywood Espanol, Los Angeles en VivoWith Penelopez Machaca, and La Extra Large, 100% Tveo in Reading ,Pa Tropicalisimo,Show Mix ,Mr. Caribbean diverged from his group to pursue opportunities in New York. With a still burning passion for music, he embraced a new musical style reggae dancehall and collaborated with the music artist Mad Cobra on the song "Bad man." Delighted with this style, he infused it into his own. After two years of living in New York, Latin styled music flourished, and so did his talent when he joined the Merengue group Kontrol. With the group, he contributed to the creation of their first album. Songs of which were very successful and were played on the radio. Deciding to broaden his scope and focus on personal enrichment, he won an academic scholarship and went to Brigham Young University in Salt Lake City, Utah. After earning Bachelors in Arts in Psychology, Mr. Caribbean chose to take a new turn and go solo in his music career. As a solo reggae artist, the quality of his music became more aesthetic while he pursued a singing career in Utah, where he also worked as a disc jockey for 94.5 VFX. Even more driven to succeed, he sparked a buzz in the industry with his eclectic style, and so decided to move to fast-paced P.A., where he now still aggressively pursues his dreams of becoming a popular music artist. He has completed his first album Gran Impacto and is currently Promoting on his second album As the urban regional style of Latin music heated up in the mid-2009s, spearheaded by the burgeoning reggaeton, and Reggae sound, Mr. Caribbean above all led the charge, selling hundreds of thousands of CDs in the wake of his international breakthrough Hit, "Mira Como Bailan." The reggaeton star enjoyed success not only throughout Latin America but also in the lucrative markets of the Europe, and alongside fellow urban regional figureheads Don Omar, Tego Calderon, Vico-C, el General, and Ivy Queen, he played a primary role in legitimizing the music style. For instance, even such highbrow media outlets as The New York Times and the BBC took note (the former crowning Gran Impacto as one of the best Reggae, Hip-Hop albums of 2004), not to mention industry publications like, which tracked the exploding urban regional market with fervor. And too, the stateside rap community certainly recognized Mr. Caribbean’s Hit Making Power, as such artists as came calling in search of crossover success.he is a Dime Mont on the Ruff
