YAY for Fall!

About Me

I'm currently living in Sacramento where I work as a legislative analyst. I also just finished graduate school where I received my Master's degree in Public Administration! I am a cable news junkie and must have my coffee and NPR in the morning. My fiance, Manuel, and I will be getting married next year so now, I guess you could say I am in a "settling down" phase in my life. I love hearing from old friends and those who live far away that I don't get to talk to very often.

My Interests

Hmm, politics, the holidays, and lately I'm succumbing to wedding planning psychosis.

I'd like to meet:

Old friends. Far Away friends. Family.

Music:

Oh yes, the Christmas music has made its debut... :)

Movies:

I recently rented V for Vendetta, which was surprisingly good. Lots of political undertones. I am looking forward to seeing Man of the Year and the new Bobby Kennedy biopic.

Television:

Well, I no longer have cable:( I have found, however, that I can get along just fine with the basic network channels, books, and the radio, believe it or not. I guess I do not ABSOLUTELY need CNN in the mornings...but it would be nice :).

Books:

Like The Knights Templar, John Adams by David McCullough also met an early end. Come on! Its like, 700 pages long! I did finally finish one, She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb which was exceptional. I've taken a brief break from The System, a book about the Clinton health care reform saga in 1993 and 1994. I had to take time out to read the new Bob Woodward book, State of Denial, about the Bush Administration and the Iraq War. I am progessing along with that one rather nicely.

Heroes:

Jon Stewart, She-Ra, and anyone who votes on a regular basis.

So weird....

I sat at graduation on Friday wondering how the heck I got here.  It's funny becuase I don't think I really gave much thought to where I'd be or what I'd be doing beyond the age of 25.  I've...

Cartoon Craziness (serious business)

The uproar over these Danish cartoons has done more than incite riots, it has provoked a quite legitimate debate over the limits of free speech, including if there should be any.I agree...

Some Comments on Last Night's Monkey Show.

The State of the Union last night was the most entertaining one to watch to date.  My favorite part is watching the Reps and Dems looking at each other and deciding whether to stand up or not (Ar...
