I'd like to meet:
NOTHING IS SCARIER THAN REALITY.
You're almost out of gas. There isn't another exit for miles, so you'd better take this one... never mind that the town you wander into gives you a total case of the willies. As you fill your tank, a bearded, crazy-eyed man in grungy jeans and a hunting jacket comes out of the dilapidated station. "You ain't from these here parts, are ye?" he grumbles suspiciously. You shake your head, hoping he'll just go away. He doesn't. He takes a pocket knife and a stone from his pocket and sharpens the blade as he tells you about the town's history. And it ain't pretty. Murders. Mayhem. Unexplained phenomena. Hauntings. Torture. Gruesome true tales that will have you trembling for weeks...
The gas machine clicks, startling you. You quickly replace the cap and pay the man. He squints into the setting sun. "If you need to stay overnight, there's a motel right down yonder road," he says, pointing to a building in the distance that looks like it should have been condemned years ago.
As you drive back onto the highway, you thank the stars that you DON'T have to stay there...
BECAUSE WE WILL DO IT FOR YOU!
"Blood and Breakfast" is a travel show where quirky horror movie-loving hostesses Erika Lieberman and Cat Pedini take us on a road trip through towns in America that have dark, macabre, and downright horrific histories. If a town has a true life tale that reminds you of a horror movie, then we are probably on our way there! In each episode, Erika and Cat take you through a town's most disturbing "horrorstorical" attractions, interview the locals, and stay at the grungiest, most-likely-to-house-an-axe-murderer motels they can find. Reenactments illustrate the most gruesome bits of the town's sordid past. At the end of each episode, our horror queens give the town a "Chainsaw Rating" from 1 to 5, one being "could walk there at midnight quite comfortably" and five being "run away screaming now... while you can." Each episode also features a special guest star from the world of Horror movies.
In the pilot episode Erika and Cat travel to Auburn, NY, home of the world's first execution by electric chair, a giant historical cemetery, one of the most important prisons in the world, and a mysterious annual gathering of thousands and thousands of crows. And what better expert on a fearsome avian invasion to have as a guest star than actress Tippi Hedren from Hitchcock's "The Birds"?
We are currently in post-production. Keep checking back here for updates!
