Band Members:
Brother George is funking things up with some personnel changes. One never really knows what cat he is going to call from his pride of musicians to a gig!
Here are some of the cats you'll find at a gig:
Drums:
Jason - has been playing drums for a variety of groups in a plethora of styles ranging from traditional country to progressive metal for the last 19 years. He also currently plays with the instrumental freestyle fusion band Asonus Persona, and teaches at King's Music in downtown Sharon and the Music Center in Niles. If you're interested in drumming, check out his web site for information about some of his drum circles!
Keyboards & Vocals:
Brother George - is a talented keyboard player and lead singer who started out with the Dick Clark caravan of stars at the young age of 17 and later graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He has written and sold songs to various artists as well as performing in Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Youngstown. Brother George always has a wise crack or two and keeps the SOULSATIONS BAND loose on stage.
Woodwinds:
Mike - studied at the Navy School of Music and the Youngstown State University Dana School of Music graduate. He toured Europe with the U.S.O. and recorded with Youngstown's original rock band The Sharkbites. Freelance work has included John Davidson, Kingston Trio, Tommy Tune, Crewcuts, New Chordettes, Lawrence Welk Singers, and the Art Mooney and Jimmy Dorsey Orchestras. Mike's eclectic musical interests puts him in area swing, rock, classical and musical theater groups, and the Soulsations. He teaches woodwind students from NE OH and W PA.
Woodwinds & Vocals:
Gordon - plays woodwinds as well as singing background vocals. Gordon was a saxophone performance major. He has performed with area funk and soul bands including the Itells, King Kong, and The Electric Jazz Ensemble. and he has played in the warm up acts for Cool and the Gang, and Bloodstone. He also performs with the Don Burns Orchestra, the Doug Butchy Big Band, Carman Mico, Gentlemen of Swing, the Mercer Community Band, Buhl Park Band, Pair-O-Docs, as well as guest performances with the River Saints, and F/X Project.
Guitar:
Buddy - is the second Doctor on staff. He is part of Brother George's stable of musicians. Buddy is mister gadget, as he is always trying something new with one of his fine axes.
Bass & Vocals:
Rich - wails with the low frequency stuff. He can really anchor the bottom end of the band. He also does some really fine vocals.
Guitar & Vocals:
Jerry - Jerry plays vintage 1970 Gibson es-335 ice teaburst rare color with paf's humbuckers. Need we say anything more?
Drums:
Erich - can be found sitting on the throne of the kit keeping the beat with the precision of a finely tuned Italian automobile.
Guitar, Vocals & Blues Harp:
Tom - has played with a number of area bands. He brings exciting tonal expression to the band when he starts comping on his harp and his expressive guitar style adds the funky rhythms to the SoulsationsBand.
Bass & Vocals:
Martha - is rock steady on the bass adding the funky kick to the band with her Soulsational bass lines. Her custom bass guitar is a knock out as is her singing lead and background vocals.
