Esteban Morgado CuartetoThe Tango Quartet was created in 2000 by his conductor, arranger and
guitarist, Esteban Morgado. The Quartet is completed with a bandoneon (walter Castro), double bass (Horacio Hurtado) and a violin (Enrique CondomÃ).
Great fans of Piazzola, they play their own arrangements for the most
renowned creations of this landmark in the Argentine music. They also play
original versions of traditional tangos such as “El Chocloâ€,
“La ultima curdaâ€, “Por una cabeza", among others. The repertoire includes also tangos written by Esteban Morgado. The Quartet has traveled throughout the world carrying a
mark of excellence in the interpretation of tango music.
It is music to listen and to dance. The Quartet may also feature couples
of tango dancers, a female singer or a male singer, depending on the
requirements of the show.Guitarrist, composer and arranger. Morgado played along with many
musicians, singers and actors, in both Argentina and abroad. Among these
are Alfredo Zitarrosa, Isabel Parra, Ranko Fuchisawa, Roberto Goyeneche,
Litto Nebbia, Raúl Lavie, Adriana Varela, Ernesto Acher, Dina Rot.
He attended the ENCUENTRO DE LAS AMERICAS, an event organizated by Quincy Jones in Miami in 1994.
He performed as a guitarist and arranger together with the famous singer
Adriana Varela.
He performed as a musical Director and arranger to his Quartet in the
Festivals of Porto Alegre in 1997/8/9 and in the Festival del Rey in Barcelona 1998.
As a representive for Argentina, he attended the festivals "BUENOS AIRES
TANGO EN ROMA" y "BUENOS AIRES TANGO" touring the cities of Turin,
Bologna, and Rome, Italy. October 2000.
He attended the "FESTIVAL OF GRANADA", España with his two ensambles:
Patio de Tango and Esteban Morgado Quartet. March 2001.
He was nominated in 2001 for the Carlos Gardel awards as the Best Male Artist for his album "Endemoniado".
The Quartet is frequently hired for concerts aboard the cruising ship
Saga Rose.
In March 2003 Morgado was awarded the Carlos Gardel Price for his album
“Cuesta Arriba†in the category Best Male Tango Artist.
In 2003 he presents in the Maipo Theater the musical play MORGADOS +
CHEDIEK together with Silvina Chediek, Claudio Morgado and Roberto
Antier.
Esteban Morgado is a renowned teacher of guitar and music. In the last 30
years he performed seminars, workshops and clinics all throughout
Argentina and abroad
In March 2005 Morgado was awarded the Carlos Gardel Price for his album
“36 Billares†in the category Best Male Tango Artist.
In March 2006 Morgado was nominated for the Carlos Gardel Price for his
album “Es lo que hay†in the category Best Tango Group.
In March 2008 Morgado was nominated for the Carlos Gardel Price for his
album “Milongueros†in the category Best Tango Group and also as Best Year Production.
