They'll name a city after us.

About Me

I graduated from PLU in May and moved to the Bay Area, CA for the new scene with my boy Aaron who is a law student at Cal. I work at a non-profit community health clinic in San Francisco, and volunteer for Planned Parenthood, and Friends of Ruwenzori (a non-profit which supports a local AIDS clinic in Uganda.) This summer I'm a counselor at Girls, Inc. day camp.
I love it in the Bay Area, especially the public transportation, amazing food, my book club girlfriends, and sunny weather, but I hope to return to the Northwest soon. I miss my friends and fam a lot!
I am a travel junkie. I studied in UK, Germany, Greece, and Italy in college. I am going to Mexico this year with my best girl Laura, and then planning to work in Africa in '09.
I am a pretty feisty lady, but I am learning patience and moderation. My favorite indulgences are dessert, red wine, cocktail or beer, maybe a nap, an irreverent joke... not necessarily in that order.
I believe in democracy, charity, volunteering, the goodness of creation and the importance of our stewardship, the equality of women and that elevating their status can change everything for the better, the healing power of laughter and the constructive power of justified anger, Barack Obama, choice, and The Courage to Be and the Ground and Power of Being according to Paul Tillich's theology. I very strongly believe in Girl Scout cookies.
My passion is social justice, especially women's issues and health policy, and I hope to make a career of it someday that will send me around the world to make a difference (I'm talking to you Bill and Melinda Gates!) Other goals are to own a KitchenAid mixer, have a room full of books in my lovely house, and have a child au natural.

My Interests

Books, Africa, history, politics, dinner out, baked goods, food in general, progressive theology, my brilliant future lawyer, satire, dancing, emails from friends around the world, card shopping, Christmas, sleeping, NPR and the Times, sleeping in, Europe, rain from the inside, bad jokes, funny stories from Teflon and college, marathons of my shows, To Do lists, Yoga
