About Me

AA23 formed in the first half of the 90's in Tempe, Arizona. Output was primarily in the form of live performance throughout Southern Arizona's best galleries, with a couple of studio tracks released on limited edition cassettes by The Instagon Foundation and Dave Wright's Instant Shoggoth label. Our greatest effort at that time was "Banishing Point", a live and studio collaboration with Not Breathing. Banishing Point culminated in a live performance, opening for Ian Read's "Fire + Ice" in Phoenix, followed by an expanded live show at the same venue the following weekend.Founding members Tim White and Tony Sebring moved to Hollywood in 1996, and continued to play at local L.A. galleries and prestigious art schools. Several years later, they were joined by Not Breathing member Drew Fitzgerald. AA23 recorded a plethora of studio tracks and performed at a variety of venues throughout California, and Arizona with Sol Invictus, Not Breathing, Instagon, C.O.T.A., Master Musicians Of Hop-Frog, and many others. In the winter of 2008, AA23 relocated to Berkeley, California. AA23 are presently working on new material for their very first full-length album release, due this coming Fall.

Generally AA23 tends to bounce from highly rhythmic, often ethnic or hip-hop influenced textures over pulsing low frequency tones to completely ambient sets that lull audiences to sleep within minutes. Performing with the original instruments / running live midi is the standard for live shows. AA23 has never, nor will ever play to an MP3, CD, DAT, ADAT, or any pre-recorded media.
