DORNE

About Me

Dorne began as a solo home recording project by singer songwriter Dorne Hendry and producer Jon Arrandale in early 2003. It soon became apparent that the songs needed a full band to give more scope and depth so a band was formed towards the end of 2003. We've played extensively around Manchester including venues such as the Academy 3 and 4, The Roadhouse, Middleton Civic Centre (supporting the Inspiral Carpets) and Life Cafe. Vocals once described as crystal sung tones accompanied by captivating cello with the added percussion and bass makes the perfect recipe for powerful heartfelt songs.
In 2006 our music was included as part of the soundtrack to the film ‘Le Mans – In the Lap of the Gods’. We received regular radio play, had articles written in various newspapers, magazines and were featured on the cover CD of ‘Future Music’ magazine. More recently two tracks were chosen to be used in a film called ‘Eve of Change’ which was premiered at Perth Film Festival in 2007. We gained strong recognition in UK Songwriter of the Year Competition 2007, with our song ‘Bush’ coming Runner Up in the Rock Category, 2 other songs reached the finals, 3 reached the semi and 3 were highly commended!!!
Due to serious health problems Dorne and the band have had to knock it on the head for the for seeable future.
