Shared the stage with groups such as Head East, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Rodney Crowell, B.J. Thomas, Leon Russell, Hydra...blah...blah...blah... Performed and/or recorded with members from groups such as Deep Purple, Trapeze, Starbuck, Mother's Finest, Blackfoot, Whiteface, 38 Special, Wet Willie, Atlanta, Derek and the Dominoes, Greg Allman, Travis Tritt, Collective Soul, B.J. Thomas, The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra...blah...blah...blah... House drummer for Real 2 Reel Studios since the late 70's. Performances on singles, albums, demos, commercial jingles or background music with credits and as ghost performer. Current recordings being played on air worldwide in styles from alternative rock, acoustic, country, country rock, jazz, meditative- native American- oriented music, reggae- rock, blues, soul, soul blues and folk. Writer, producer, vocalist and drummer/percussionist. Was part of a television musical series in 1980, aired on PBS and nominated for a Grammy. "Growing up in a musical family I was exposed and influenced by many different styles of music. It was not uncommon to hear everything from Bill Haley and the Comets, Hank Williams Sr., Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Benny Goodman, Lou Rawls, Frank Sinatra, Les Paul, a Broadway Musical, Bobby Darin, Patsy Cline, The Stones, The Beatles, Hendrix, The Beach Boys, Fats Domino, Al Hert and Tom Jones, all before breakfast!" David's Theory: (Part one) "Everyone has something to offer. That is all of the musicians that play from the heart. Experience means nothing if the player can't remember why they started playing to begin with."(Part two) "It's all about respect!"(Part three) "There is something to be said for longevity..." "I have set a goal for myself to at least play to a certain level on the bar each and every time I play. If I do not make that mark, it will be time to step down and make room for someone else that can make it." " I have been more than fortunate in finding myself in awe, playing and performing with some of the best musicians in the world throughout my whole career. Some have been nationally or even world-wide known, some have been local players. But each of them were accomplished, successful contributing musicians by any standards. I have been and continue to be influenced by them all. They have taught me that it is not what you have to say that is as important as what you say with your instrument."(Part four) "It's still all about respect!"I am married to my high school love, my first true love, Sarah Margarita Namer-Buice. We were destined to travel in a great and wonderful circle through life and then return to each other in order to spend the rest of our lives as one. I am involved with several musical projects and mostly freelance including a few gigs with the fabulous Geoff Achison from Australia. Of course there is the Little Phil Project, (now we are into our second album after the first one being considered for a Grammy for 2007!), and I still love to play with one of my mentors, Bill Turpin whenever I get the chance. I also play with the Borderline Band and several pick-up, sit in gigs here and there.I have been blessed to be able to play with Atlanta's finest musicians over the years and even some of my musical heros! I have learned from them all. It really doesn't matter what you're playin' or who you're playin' with, It's what you do with what you're playin'! In recording I like to keep in mind what Sergio Mendez once said, "You're only as good as your last three minutes. But I do try and place a little bit of me in each recording. that is unless I'm required to play like a metronome!MORE TO COME.

Hope you enjoy. Finally a new song! This song was written for my beautiful wife Sarah. It is not complete but I wanted to get a few comments anyway. The mix is a quick mix. My brother Jody Worrell is performing the guitar work on this. Rachel Williams and Donnie Henderson are performing back-up vocals. There is more work to be done on this for sure. Please leave a comment as they are more than welcome. Myspace layouts Myspace backgrounds
Sounds Like: The House of David Project, I feel covers a wide spectrum of music, so it is hard to catagorize it into "sounds like". I will say that each and every player adds his or her own signature to the overall sound. I like to think that as a whole it sounds like what I hear in my heart and the players somehow tap into that sound and transfer it into musical sound. I simply arrange the tunes and then verbally express what I am hearing to a small degree and then back off so that the players can reach into themselves and play what they are hearing. It just works out to be magic that way. There is a little funk, some blues, a little of everything all mixed into the music and songs. All from my head and heart. You will have to listen for yourselves and decide what it sounds like.I also play for my church in the praise band. A small intimate church, The Village Church is a place where everyone is welcome, especially those seeking answers to the questions in their lives that they can not find anywhere else. Everyone is accepted with no expectations and without judgment of any sort. You can reach the church media links at: http://www.villagechurch.tv/media/sermons/index Some files are clearer and cleaner than others. it is truly a work in progress.
