Our dad had collected music from the best of them all, Glen Miller, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Jimmy and Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Henry Mancini, Lew Stone, Bix Beiderbecke, Ambrose, Roy Fox, Fats Waller, King Oliver, Billie Holiday, Chick Webb, Anita O'Day, Ella Fitzgerald, Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli, Al Bowlly, Gene Krupa, Count Basie, Jimmie Lunceford, etc. Our Dad preferred and listened to his music more than that of our old black & white TV set. A "Corner Pub" style band which had been regular contestants, for the local, annual "Battle of the bands" contests. Throughout the 70's he played various venues including Gospel & Country. I started out smaller and different, as in my earlier years studied and became a working percussionist with "Windsor Light Opera"; From their I later joined the local musicians union and worked with the "Pit Swing band", which was the home band to the Elmwood Casino. My first drum kit was a double set Ludwig Black Pearl, similarly setup like Ginger Baker's kit of that time. I continued through 1977 to 1990, as a Disc Jockey for hire, with Versatile Disc Jockey's. I founded and formed "ESSEX_SYSTEMS" (C) in 1981. In 1992 started as an Engineer and I'm still doing it today. In 2003 I had set aside acoustic drums and purchased my first Digital drum kit from Roland. Continued expanding and buying more till I filled my studio with them. I use the new complete set of Titanium Zildjian; I have purchased every cymbal of that collection. I own all the other Roland toys too, HPD15 Hand-sonic, SPD-20, SPD-S, The largest Roland V-Drum amplifiers, with V-Drum monitor.
