About Me

YOUNG C-NOTE BIO
Young C-Note, aka Cameron Thompson has always had a passion for music. In 1995 Young C-Note recorded his first self-produced/self-written song in his home-based recording studio titled "I Grind Full Time". He held on to the song until 2002 and re-recorded the song to another track that he had also produced. A few weeks later he had several cds duplicated. He began handing them out in school and the song received a good response which inspired him to continue rapping. Young C-Note was later introduced to Art Yancey by his mother Cynthia Thompson. Art Yancey recognized young but fast-developing talent, decided to become C-Note's manager and introduced him to more advanced level of technology by bringing him into a top-of-the-line recording studio. Young C-Note introduced Art Yancey to an old female classmate from elementary school who was also lyrically talented and Yancey decided to bring them together as a duet. The un-named duet recorded their first song together titled "Drugs", a song encouraging youths to stay away from drugs. "The song had a good concept and could have been a good promotional blast but did not do well." says Young C-Note. Months later, after Yancey found himself caught up with the law, the young duet parted and went their seperate ways. But Young C-Note didn't stop there. In only the 7th grade, Young C-Note was introduced to Mr. Earvin, a band director at Avondale High School in Decatur, Ga.. Thats when he proved that he was really musically inclined by playing a solo cadence on a snare drum in front of a high school marching band director. Earvin was impressed but felt that he should further test Young C-Note by asking him to read and play a cadence. C-Note hit every note correctly and was assigned a snare drum and a spot in Avondale High School's Marching Band drumline. ("I always have been in a band, I was in concert band in elementary and middle school, and even though I never made it that far in high school, I was in a high school marching band in seventh grade." says Young C-Note.) In 2004, Young C-Note was chosen to participate in Morris Brown College's Band Camp. He was the youngest in the camp standing at only 5 foot 4. Young C-Note later began visiting another local recording studio with his first cousin Chocko Black who was then a member of All Profit Boyz where he recorded the street banger "Home Of The Brave" produced by Shug Jones & JB of All Profit Boyz. Young C-Note received a big disappointment when he was supposed to perform "Home of the Brave" with All Profit Boyz at a local Atlanta nightclub but didn't get a chance to. He decided to continue doing solo work and invested much time and money into his own home-based recording studio where he began working hands on with Pro Tools software and Keyboards. He later discovered that he isn't only a rapper, he is a rapper and producer. He was creating his own tracks alone in the basement of his parents home. Since then, he has been producing his own tracks and writing his own lyrics. But don't get it twisted, Young C-Note is no stranger to poverty and the struggle. He was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, a city notorious for it's violence and crime on Hooper Street, but he was also living with him mother in Bowen Homes. In 2005, Young C-Note was arrested for possesion of marijuana w/ intent and possesion of a controlled substance w/ intent to distribute. He was sentenced 6 months in a Juvenile Court. After he was released, he found himself back in the streets hustling and was arrested several more times on felony drug possesion charges. After recently serving a year in jail, he decided to get his life back in line and has since then written an (soon to be published) novel titled "Far From Paradise", basically about a young boy going down a similar path, and ends with an intertesting moral. Young C-Note has also started an organization "Commiting Sucide" for youths who use drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, encouraging them to quit "COMMITING SUICIDE".Young C-Note started an independent record label Major Playz Entertainment with Melvin "Solo" Melton, his right hand man or (BRAIN) as he calls him in the summer of 2007. Young C-Note and his older cousin Chocko Black became a rap group and production team named 'Major Playz" but later seperated after a mis-understanding. They built a face card in the game by feeding hot music to the streets and performing in local Atl clubs, like the Poole Palace on their way up the ladder. Now as a solo artist, Young C-Note recorded his hit single with Wingo of Jagged Edge titled "We Are". The song is on it's way to the top of the charts! Be on the look out! Although Young C-Note is known for his ear catching lyrics, he also does production. C-Note has produced songs for many recording artists and has also worked close with other well known producers such as Charm of Black Hustle LLC and KeyzOnTheTrack. Young C-Note produced "Smoke No Mo" for female rapper Jazzybelle and "Does What It Do" for the College Park veteran A-Kizzle. Only two words describe this Atlanta native....Musically Talented!
