Snowboarding on painkillers, sleeping, playing guitar, eating salad...But my passion is coffee and cigarettes. They are all that I need to survive a terrible day.
I know enough people.
Anything hard with a devious beat. The Deftones has been my favorite band since I was a kid. I've also been a huge fan of Jonah Matranga for a long time. I've been following the Sacramento rock scene for a while. There's some really good music coming out of that city right now, like The Revolution Smile, and Eightfourseven. You should check them out if you've never heard of them. Here's a list of what's on my ipod right now.10 Years 30 Seconds to Mars 311 (hed)P.E [minus] 10 Years A New Found Glory A Perfect Circle Adema AFI Agents of Oblivion Aiden Alanis Morissette Alice in Chains Alien Ant Farm Alkaline Trio American Hi-Fi Amity Lane Anberlin Ani Difranco Anti-Flag Arctic Monkeys Army of Anyone At The Drive-In Ataris Atmosphere Atreyu Audioslave Audrey Autolux Avenged Sevenfold Beastie Boys Beck Black Label Society Blink 182 Blur Bob Marley & The Wailers Boy Sets Fire Boys Like Girls Brand New Breaking Benjamin Bright Eyes Bruce Springsteen Buckcherry Bush Butthole Surfers Cake Candlebox Caroline's Spine Cartel Chevelle Chris Cornell Circa Survive CKY Clutch Coal Chamber Cold Coldplay Collective Soul Counting Crows Cracker Creed Dashboard Confessional Dave Matthews Band Dave Navarro Death Cab for Cutie Deftones Depeche Mode Dishwalla Disturbed Doors, The Downset Drain STH Drowning Pool Eightfourseven Envy on the Coast Evanescence Eve 6 Everclear Faith No More Fall Out Boy Far Fear Factory Filter Finch Finger Eleven Fiona Apple Flyleaf Foo Fighters Fort Minor Four Non Blondes Fray, The Fuel Further Seems Forever Garbage Gas Giants (Robin Wilson) Giant Drag Gin Blossoms Glassjaw Godsmack Goldfinger Goo Goo Dolls Good Charlotte Gorillaz Gratitude Greenday Hawthorne Heights Head Automatica Helmet Him Hum Incubus Interpol Institute Jack Off Jill Jane's Addiction Jerry Cantrell Jessie VelenzuelaJessica simpson Jimmie's Chicken Shack Juliana Theory King Missile King's X KMFDM Korn L7 Lenny Kravitz Lifehouse Limp Bizkit Linkin Park Lit Long Beach Dub Allstars Lupe Fiasco Machinehead Mad Season Maroon 5 Massive Attack Matthew Good Band mdfmk Me First And The Gimme Gimmes Metallica Matchbox 20 Millencolin Mindless Self Indulgence Mindseye Ministry Mother Love Bone Mxpx My Chemical Romance N.E.R.D. I workED in a video store. Too many movies have been in my DVD player, and most I don't even like. Married with children is probably my favorite television show. I have every season on DVD, and have probably watched it straight through twice, nevermind as they aired since I can remember. Embarrassingly, I'm very much a fan of melodramatic teen dramas like The O.C., One Tree Hill, Kyle XY, and Gossip Girl. There's a lot of terrible shows, and I can honestly say that I've never seen an entire episode of a reality show, and I honestly don't understand why americans are so drawn to them. I just don't get it. A bunch of people fucking with each other for money and fame....If the shows aren't scripted. But I highly doubt that they're legit. Actually, I may have lied. I have watched seasons of the Real World, but I had to stop when the shows got too outrageous. I'm a huge fan of 24, and I'm extremely pissed at the writers strike because apparently Fox has decided not to air their latest season of it because they only filmed half of it, and they are unsure if the strike will outlast their episodes. Fuck writers. Scrubs is a brilliant show, and Freaks and Geeks was definitely a good one. Its too bad Freaks and Geeks didn't hold its ratings because they kinda just left the season hanging. I guess if I were to pick a current favorite, I'd have to go with Nip/Tuck. If you know of any decent shows, let me know. I'll watch anything. They're a great way to get away from the reality of my own life sometimes.
Elizabeth Wurtzel is my favorite author. I read mainly memoirs, about people who have fucked their lives up and lived to tell about it. I read Why I Committed Suicide, by Sam Paul a few months ago. It was definitely something I could identify with. Wet Dreams and Zoloft is another good book. I can't read books that don't have to do with real people in real situations. I feel like its a waste of time to read something that's fake, when you could be reading about somebody's real experiences, and maybe even learn something from them.
If I had heroes, I probably wouldn't have all the spare time that I do to contemplate who my heroes are. But, if I were to have a hero, it would be a mixture between Benny Hinn, and Scott Stapp. I can just imagine Scott Stapp in one of those Benny Hinn silk suits, preaching from a stage to thousands of people, and screaming "Satan, I am ready to fight!". I'm happier that he beat up 311 though. I mean, how much more badass can you get? Anyone can verbally bash something that doesn't exist, but taking out a band that's been spiraling like a toilet flush....That's awesome.
