Growing up in and around Chicago was a Fantastic experience for me!... We all can complain about the Wind and Snow,. Traffic Jambs and Congestion,. but as far as I'm concerned,. I would have never experienced all the things that Chicago has to offer anywhere else!..........I can remember when the Television first came out,. most of them had round screens and were all telecast in Black and White.... Who can forget the Uncle Milty Texaco Theater;. the Honeymooners;. Hit Parade and the Little Rascals!... Does anyone out there remember Two Ton Baker and Pinky Lee!... I would have been in Heaven if I could have even sat in the Peanut Gallery!.. lol... The serial programs were what I lived for,. shows like Spintail Tommy;. Flash Gordon;. Buck Rogers;. to name a few.... How about Buster Brown;. Howdy Doody;. Garfield Goose and Bozo the Clown!... Thank you Chicago!..........The most exciting thing for a kid back then was Riverview Park,. I loved to ride the Comet and was scared to death of the Parachute Ride!.lol.. Chicago has everything a kid could want in the way of Sports;. Museums;. Zoo's;. the Shed Aquarium and the Adler Planetarium.... There was also a complete cross section of every type of food and Restaurants in the World.... Home of the Chicago Red Hots and the Best Pizzas in the States...........Home of WGN and WLS!... Do you remember Dick Bionde .(The Meatball Song);. the Ron Riley Rebel Raiders and Webber's Commandos!... Did you ever get to see the Go Go Dancers on the Wall in Cages at the Crystal Pistol or Mother Goose's on Rush Street?... Or go to the Sportsman Show at the Stockyards?... How about Maxwell Street at 4 AM?... My all time favorite meal was the Battered and Boned Lake Michigan, Lake Perch, the best fish I've ever eaten.... I've seen the Bulls;. Black Hawks;. Sox;. Cubs and Da Bears!... Have been to Water Tower Place,. all over China Town,. and my all time favorite was the Kon Tiki Ports at the Sheraton!... I also enjoyed many Broadway Plays at McCormick Place and have been to the Opera a few times!... What a GREAT place to grow up and live!..........Who could not enjoy the Saint Paddy's Day parade and all the other Parades in the City as well as the Octoberfest!...Only a True Chicagoan will spend the day in the heat to watch the Cubbies and Sox then brave the frigid snowy weather with their Bears!... Who doesn't enjoy Christmas at Marshall Fields.... I'm only touching the tip of the Iceberg here folks,. CHICAGO Is My Kind Of Town!
